The Official UFO, Conspiracy Theories and Supernatural Thread

Ah ****, the Mothman's back? Someone get Richard Gere.

The Mothman was the real hero of that movie. He was just trying to tell people to stay the hell off that bridge. It's not his fault that he's a seven-foot tall moth creature with glowing red eyes. That's racist.

Pretty much. Indrid Cold was more pleasant to the humans he encountered than most humans are to each other.

Newest and craziest conspiracy theory out now is that the Youtube shooter isn't a real person.

Neither is Booze Bolton but we can't let that stop us from bringing him to justice. What he did to those camels... Well this is a family site so... I will spare the gruesome details.

Only one way to be sure. Flash525 has to go there in the middle of the night and investigate if this ghost rider is real.

And if it is real?

Unfortunately, I don't believe the castle is open to the public at night, though in all sincerity, if it was, I'd go. I don't believe in ghosts and ghouls. I think if they were real things, we'd have fundamental proof of their existence by now.

What if the area 51 ambush is a success and instead of greys, there are a bunch of mothmen living there.

lol, is that a joke? That sounds like an incredibly stupid thing to do. Aren't there land mines, heavy security, and some of the land is irradiated from nuke tests?

That has to be a joke. :funny:

Also the heavily guarded gate to get into area 51 is 15 miles from the actual base. If anyone does manage to get past the gate, then they will get chased by military vehicles for 15 miles.

I mean, I feel pretty confident that aliens are out there somewhere but I don't know how confident I am that we have some locked away.

No matter how this turns out I have the feeling we are gonna get a couple of films out of this story. A couple factionalized versions and at least a documentary or two. Even if it never happens there is a story about the way social media has become the best friend conspiracy theories ever had.

The internet historian will probably do a video on this.

Hopefully it won't have a tragic ending. I have no doubt that no one will get in spitting distance of a building at the facility and there will not be hundreds of thousands showing up. But... even a few hundred people could be big enough around a closed off area or access point or restricted road to cause some issue or worse possibly act in a way that sets off a chain of events that could lead to violence.

No... I 'm not saying these people should be fired upon. I would hope any government personnel would show the utmost restraint. But clashing forces, militants who won't take no for an answer, large groups, guns and possible overreacting on the part of authorities or malfeasance or just the trigger happy response of a couple of military types and this could go south fast.

...let us assume, for the moment, that the raid is a success. Then what? Anything of value is probably buried deep in the base, and behind walls, lifts, secret doors etc etc etc. None of these fools are going to find a god damn thing, and quite frankly, I think they should be shot at - they're trespassing on military installation and for what? Attention? Recognition?

If people jumped the gates at Buckingham Palace, they risk being shot. If people jump the gates at the Whitehouse, they risk getting shot. Why is this so different? It's private property, and it's restricted. Trespassers should be shot on sight, sorry. Failure to do so could actually end worse; imagine if you've got suicide bombers in the mix somewhere - how long do you give anyone before you decide they're too close to be a threat.

they think we live in a Spielberg movie or Stranger Things and feel they have the right to carry out their hero fantasy and prove to everyone that the men in black are hiding something.

As goofy as all that is... I kinda think there should be some kind of journalistic follow up. Has there been a spike in airline tickets bought to Nevada? Are hotels in the area being booked in numbers unusual for this time of year? No... The hundreds of thousands won't show up. Will there be hundreds though?
This is all a very odd and it may portend something very bad in the future.

Call it a conspiracy theory about conspiracy theorist... I know the guy that put this forward has come out recently to say he's was just joking but has it taken a life of it's own now? Is there a possible third party involved in some way? I cannot but help to think that this is a great test subject to see just how far an outside agitator can use social media to manipulate large groups of people most of whom are adherents to fringe ideas, thus making them susceptible to any manner of "plans" to disrupt law and order. Today it's "let's bum rush a military instillation". I mean... That's already nuts. What happens when it's something else? I'm no Trump fan but I am not sure it would be all that hard to get a bunch of yahoos to rush the gates of the White House. The success of the operation isn't the point. The bloody aftermath, raised emotions and sense of fear it spreads would be. Again... I'm not a fan of Trump or lots of members of congress but this sort of thing could be applied to that kind of idea and well... I shudder to think of the fallout.
