She also has a healing factor, night vision, super hearing, ability to sense mutant auras, supersonic flight
I thought I might've missed one or two, but half? M has more powers than the Martian Manhunter. And that's saying something.

The first power Layla ever used was the power to restore memories. She hasn't used this power since House of M.
The power she uses regularly is the power to see the future. Or rather, she sees multiple possible futures, and knows how to manipulate events in order to get her desired results. Rictor gave her the codename Butterfly, because her powers work like the butterfly effect.

I like that. It fits for Layla

There's speculation that one or both of them have been replaced with Skrulls. No one knows for sure.

I'm thinking it's Strange.

oh yeah. The original catch about the character was that she was perfect. I guess you could even throw superhuman intellect into that bc she's supposed to be a genius

people like rahne because of the dichotomy of her character. when she was first introduced she was this very shy, very religious little girl who could turn into a wolf or wolf hybrid. it was kind of a release for her. now that she's grown up (probably around 20-22) she's got a huge chip on her shoulder, she's got a lot of guilt and anger pent up because with her strict upbringing she was taught that that released feeling is bad, that's something she's trying to rebel against. so she's got alot of conflicting emotions. also she recently contemplated suicide in order to prevent a possible future one of x-factors enemies planted in her head from occuring where she kills madrox and layla.

There's one of these in the general Marvel section but we X-fans have enough random, obscure questions about the convoluted stories we love to read every month :p

One that's been on my mind for a while: During the Savage Land arc in Uncanny a few years ago(around when X-23 made her appearance), Rachel was shown with the ability to alter DNA on a molecular level. She freakin turned herself into a human/dinosaur hybrid. Has this ability been retconned or something cuz nobody's done anything w/ it since Claremont made it up?

We actually have a thrread like that here: http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=289821

but to answer your question, no it hasnt be retconned. There just hasnt been a need to use it. I thought it was dumb to begin with, especially since Rachel was being written as weaker than she was during her Excalibur days yet was able to do that

Ah ha, I'll ask a mod to merge in a min

That power sure would come in handy against Vulcan and the IG right now. I feel like Rachel and Korvus just kinda sit there and talk about their phoenix powers all day

Haha, you would think so. I believe we're the only 3 Alex enthusiasts around here too :p
