Personally, I would only buy an "extended cut" if it made watching the film very different from watching the theatrical version and that it didn't feel like a version where someone just edited some of the unused scenes onto the theatrical version.

I guess, what I mean is, if they could make an extended cut that would make watching the film into a different experience like how the extended cuts for the original LOTR trilogy has done, then I would buy it.

But the sad thing is that, based on what we know, there really isn't much new footage that they could add that would make the film feel really all that different, at least to the point where it would be worth buying it.

I mean the only major scenes that were deleted was the Kents taking a infant Clark to the hospital and Lois being interrogated.

If there was anything else that was major, particularly character moments, then I'd feel different about it.

Yeah but was that trying to fix a damaged film and it was released in place of the standard version not as another release.

I really hope I'm wrong mind. How long did the Watchmen extended cut take after the standard release?

I think that there are there three different versions of Watchmen.

Theatrical Cut: 162 minutes

Director's Cut: 186 minutes

Ultimate Cut: 215 minutes

I think that both versions of GL were released on DVD. My assumption is that studios make a director's cut DVD a year after the original DVD whenever they can as it brings in another few million like clockwork.

The first version was 3 hours long. The final movie was 2:27. I'd love to see those 33 minutes.

From the impression that I got from the BTS stuff that we've seen, it seems like he mainly trimmed out a lot of his scenes.

I mean the sequence with Lois trying to run away from her apartment and avoid getting caught was actually a longer shot but Zack trimmed it down.

Also, we know that Zack filmed a lot more stuff of Clark riding on his bicycle throughout Metropolis.

Alnd, i think he actually filmed Clark coming out of the church that he went to in the film.

All of that sounds like it's worth my $25.

As long as the extended edition was worth it i would welcome that. How much did it take for Watchmen to get the director's and the ultimate cut?

What was it in the editing?

Ya know the only thing I'd say in editing was the way the flashbacks just appeared there should have been a fade for me, but its not something that really bothers me or takes away from any enjoyment at all.

I think that the flashbacks didn't really feel natural, they would just pop up now and then, ended up feeling forced.

I think that would gave been fixed with a simple fade of some sort but like I said its only a nitpick I don't think it effects the overall quality of the film at all.

I think that the problem is mostly on where and how it's placed, not exactly how it cuts from the present to the past.

We'll have to disagree there I think its just the way they're cut, they need to fade.

The only one that's out of place is the bully one. That probably should have come between the bully giving him s**t and discovering his truck destroyed. Although I think then it could have ruined the impact of that scene.

If there was going to be an extended edition of MOS, we'd have heard about it by now. Snyder's usually pretty upfront about that stuff when the film is being released.

What I like about the linear cut is that you relate with Clark and Kents right at the start instead of wondering what he's doing as an adult and waiting for him to speak. I also think it makes the Kryptonians more mysterious and fun to learn about later on. In the linear cut, they put the Krypton scenes as flashbacks when Jor-El explains it to Clark on the scout ship.

Excuse my ignorance, but is there a linear timeline cut of MoS?!

Honestly I couldn't tell you. I don't even know if they have what you're looking for, but there is usually quite a few good re-edits on there.

Those things shouldn't warrant an additional 33 minutes, any idea of more scenes were slimmed down or is there a possibility of something else we might not know about?

Dawn of the Dead is on AMC. :awesome:

Somebody needs to get a peek inside that man's office window at the big posters of the new suits on his walls...dammit!

I liked that he clarified that he's a fan of Gilliam, just not his version of Watchmen. I also am glad to feel the excitement. If Batman is a one-up of Zod, can it mean that he's opponent is more personal and psychological rather than physical? :hubba

And with Terrio building the character arcs and dialog on Snyder's underrepresented sense of imagination and Goyer's story outlines, I can only imagine how neat the final results can be, expecially after an extra year in post :)

^I like your optimism, unlike other fanboys who loves ******ing around everything. :hehe:

I trust Snyder, especially when he's kinda comparing this movie to Watchmen which is my all time favorite.

Did we ever saw this in the movie ?

Maybe, it was cut.
