The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The one, the only SPIDEY Costume thread!

I like when the suit wrinkles, bunches and and creases. that makes it much more realistic.
Agreed. Much like Kick-Ass though I really hope Peter wears underwear underneath his costume unlike K-A.

I noticed that the original Raimi prototype Spidey suit... http://vimeo.com/83895740 http://vimeo.com/83259310 ...had the huge eyes like the current suit. Seem like yesterday in one sense and a gods age in another.

Yup. I always find that interesting. But the shape of the eyes on the Raimi suit look better when they're smaller. The Mcfarlane/Bagley look Webb went with needs to be larger.

I just noticed that in the new international poster with the close up of his lens and Electro in the reflection, they added a silver layer to the webbing in the mask. That's so weird and lame haha.

@Nicko

I'm guessing the real webbing may look a little no-so-perfect, up-close, so they decided to 'shop and/or modify it

Still pretty weird to make it silver, though, yeah.

^Yup. Get any closer than that and the it'll start to resemble black gingerbread frosting.

Mm I see your point. So what, are they gonna correct the black webbing with each shot of him with his suit? Haha

Black webbing ftw (like it should be)

I'm thinking, after enough color and contrast correction/grading, the imperfections in the webbing should become pretty hard to spot - especially in motion. If they decide to go for an extreme close up in the movie, though, there will most probably be some CG involved, yeah.

And black webbing for life. :woot:

Huh. Good point. Well there's gotta be some close ups. I know they've got some shots to showcase the new suit.

Hmmmm.... I dunno. For whatever reason, they clearly did something wrong with the bigger eyes.
It's just the shape. It's like in the shape of a teardrop. Which is almost like Mark Bagley but apparently that doesn't translate well to live-action.

Just dropped in to mention (ones again) that the TASM2 suit is 110% perfection, imo. I just can't see fans wishing for much more than this. I hope the new suit is a mirroring metaphor for the movie it self. Like the perfection of this suit, the movie will also be - AMAZING!

I really wish for nothing less than for this film to come in from the right and knock the living crap out of recent superhero flicks, also including the major disappointment being Man of Steel (which for some was "aaaall-that"). With Marc Webb directing this thing, and with the screenplay provided by Alex & Roberto, sprinkled with an epic score by Hans-FREAKEN-Zimmer! - it is definitely possible that this could end up being a surprising gem of a movie. And it wouldn't come out on top because of the action, which I'm sure will be great though. But the real "win" of it all lies in a working & compelling story, not to mention one_heck of a badass cast where the chemistry between the characters sparkles as insane as Electro, and soars as high as Spidey does 70 stories above the streets of Manhattan! I hope TASM2 kills it. It deserves too.

All of this.

:supes:

Yup, I remember seeing that... But why is it that that pic and that mask still looks kinda cheesy compared to what is seen in TASM2? Still, I like the look of the unused web shooters from Raimi's original movie, even more so than what we see in TASM :-)

That doesn't look silver to me. In comparison to the black rims of the eye lenses it may seem that way but it actually looks like some kind of gray. The sheen on it and the angle at which the light is reflecting makes the color look a bit lighter as well.

Seeing the Raimi costume again, meh, it's alright. I'm just not a fan of the webbing. That thing is white no matter what setting it's in.

Well you can tell it's a layer because there's the black layer underneath it. Refer to SpideyK's posting above and you can see in the photo with Andrew that the webbing is pure black. Compare that to the poster, and there's that silver layer I'm talking about.

I don't believe it's anything but the way the light is reflecting off of the black webbing.

However, the webbing itself does look a bit like it has been "tidied up" in photoshop or something...

I actually don't mind the wrinkling on the neck. Makes it believable. Too much on the costume itself, however, like on the waist, yeah, don't want too much of that.
