@Zantera with Hasenhuttl do the 9-0's not put you off? It feels very Roberto Martinez to me.
Not that much mostly because it feels like a result of the squad he has at Southampton, and here he would have a better squad. With that said I think any manager comes with pros and cons at this point.

Apparently OGS & his coaching staff have been trialling Jadon Sancho at RWB in training..

If I ever see Jadon Sancho as RWB, except in absolute no other choice situation, I might lose my ****.

Spend 2 years chasing one of the most talented wingers in the world, spend 80 million pounds to get him to the club, change formation to a system that doesn't even use wingers, put him on the bench, then go "maybe we can convert him to a right wingback?"

This is exactly why the rapist was a bad idea. They are switching the formation for him. Well him, McFred and Maguire. Covering for how bad they are.

We should be playing 4-3-3 or the diamond.

I’d take Rodgers in a second at Newcastle. Think he’d be a massive upgrade for Utd too and a potential long term candidate. Not many PL proven managers around.

I think Rodgers is good, I think the issues with him for us wouldn't be his ability as a manager but he does feel a bit like a yes-man as well (so that's probably why the Glazers seem keen on him) and the ties to Liverpool still exist. I think there are better options but there's also worse options.

We will proably end up with a yes man. And he is better then most in that regard,

Sky report Gerrard deal is done with Villa. 2 and a half year contract. Probably hoping to take over from Klopp after that.

According to a report from France, Paul Pogba want's to sign a new deal with the club BUT will only do so if he is made the club's & subsequently the Premier League's, highest earner..

:funny:

Very risky decision if his goal is the Liverpool job, the safer choice would have been to stay in Scotland for a few more years & when Klopp eventually walks away Gerrard probably would have danced into the role if he'd won a few more trophies.

Might have hurt his chances by going to Villa, if his only success with the club is perhaps keeping them up & out of relegation trouble for the length of time he's there.

Maybe he backs his own ability and thinks he can do better at Villa than most of us expect. Staying at Rangers would definitely be the safer option.

I think he'll be able to do a good job at Villa, but a good job at Villa would probably be seen as keep them clear of relegation trouble & fight for mid-table to Europa League spots. But would that sort of thing be enough to get him the Liverpool job, particularly if when Klopp eventually leaves he does so on his own terms with Liverpool at the top as opposed to being sacked.

I'd have thought potentially having 2 or 3 Scottish League titles & improving on previous European campaigns would have looked better on his resume.

Norwich holding talks with Lampard.

Agreed again, but PL management experience itself is a plus IMO. Getting Villa to 7th for eg would be as big as a Scottish title where the level of competition just isn’t that high.

The Villa move makes sense for Gerrard if he does want to further his career as a manager. Rangers might be a big club but the Scottish league is nowhere near Premier League and if you wanna compete against the best you go to Premier League.

Besides Klopp might stay at Liverpool for another 5 years for all we know and there's no guarantee that Gerrard spending another few years mucking about in the Scottish league will secure that move to Liverpool. In many ways I think it's admirable that he's taking this step to a club where he needs to do a lot of work to turn it around.

@B linked to what you were saying earlier :D

Steven Gerrard told leaving Rangers for Aston Villa is step down in brutal blast

oh the title got edited - it had Rangers being able to fit Villa in their back pocket lol

:D

I don't know if I'd consider it a step down, but it's certainly not a step up IMO regardless of the overall differences in calibre of the PL & SPL, you're swapping from title favourites in Scotland to a side that's still really trying to get it's footing back & steering clear of relegation after only returning a few seasons ago in England, at best it's probably sideways.

Yeah titles and playing in Europe are a big plus, and also Rangers has a very strong fanbase. No question that they’re a big club. I remember that talk of Celtic and Rangers joining the PL and whether that would be a good thing or not, I would have loved to see how they got on.
