How did facebook get more popular than myspace in the first place?
By targeting young adults rather than tweens like Myspace. Of course, Facebook is now becoming like Myspace by letting minors be able to make their own pages, thus adding some lameness to its name

Myspace has too many fake accounts... at least from what I experienced. Facebook manages to avoid that somehow. I think.

No thank you, Myspace. I don't want a single got darn reason to even think of your URL.

Seriously stopped using Myspace like 3 years ago, as a member. But I do still use it for their music.

The only reason I haven't deleted my myspace is cause some of my old sixth graders found it and added me. Though I haven't checked my Myspace in months...

Facebook is slowly absorbing myspace. Soon we will be calling it Myfacebook!:shock

Please tell me you're not an elementary school teacher.

MySpace is ranked 30th of all sites online worldwide, which is quite a change from years before, but I doubt it's going anywhere anytime soon.

I wonder where SHH ranks...<pauses for Mirko to answer> :)

Facebook doesn't really have the music networking that Myspace has/had, which is unfortunate. That's the only reason why Myspace is/was good.

MySpace just got loaded up with too much crap for me. And they layout on most pages was god awful messy and just hard to read. Facebook condensed everything nicely where you could easily access friends and groups and such without having them plastered on your main page. Of course, they (facebook) have started to screw all that up recently.

Facebook is beating MySpace simply because while MySpace is best if you want to access new music & artists, Facebook is great for connecting with long, lost friends, chatting with your family & friends, and even keeping tab on your favorite topics and subjects. With FB membership rising by the day, it makes other sites like MySpace obsolete. Thanks to FB, I'm able to keep in contact with my HS and college friends, and check out the latest news from my own circle of friends and family. I don't really need anything else besides it.

Agreed. That's Facebook's negative to me being a guitarist in a series of bands.

MySpace is very band/artist friendly. Be it music, comedy, etc. The big downfall with MySpace now is that no one uses it, haha!

Facebook has options for bands and music but it's just a pain in the ass and it's actually more difficult getting people to follow you or "be your fan".

On MySpace we have like 150 to 200 people who loyally follow us but on FaceBook we only have like 10 people. It's just odd.

Though this has been coming for quite a while now. I haven't even checked my personal MySpace account in almost a year. I'm on it at least once a week for my bands. :o

Myspace has been going downhill for quite some time now. The only reason is still somewhat relevent is because of the music.

In a not so distant future: MyTwitterBook.

...

This.

I also think that they should not allow minors on Facebook just to have a more adult friendly site(and I don't mean porn and whatnot). I'm talking about getting rid of a lot of the underage ****es.

I use Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family that live far away that I don't get to see often if at all. It's annoying though how many morons post song lyrics. At first I was always asking "what's wrong?" or "huh??" but now I just ignore it and realize how stupid they are.

Wake up people, posting song lyrics as your comment is incredibly dumb. Especially when I ask them why they do that and they reply with "well I couldn't think of anything else to say"...THEN DON'T TYPE ANYTHING! It's stuff like that that makes Facebook almost as dumb and idiotic as Myspace.

Facebook really dropped the ball when they started to let minors be able to create their own pages. Now many friend requests are from high school kids that claim that they've seen me once or twice when they were in 8th grade or freshman year. Guys, I DON'T REMEMBER YOU! you kinda hit puberty between the time I last saw you and now. :whatever:

Facebook has a movie coming out.

Facebook has a movie coming out with Spider-Man in it.

Facebook has a movie coming out with Spider-Man and Justin Timberlake.

Facebook has a movie coming out with Spider-Man, Justin Timberlake, and Zombieland in it.

Facebook > Myspace

MySpace is basically the equivalent of that one mall in the city that's known as the tore up one. You got one good mall and one ghetto mall.

And in a couple of years, something will come around to replace Facebook.
