The only problem I have with this movie is

Every character looks the same. Growing up I loved the Joes mainly because their were so many Character's and each had their own cool Look. I have no problems with any of the cast at all and Ill not say this movie is gonna suck because I have not seen a trailer. But cmon this is not the Joes I grew up with so many character's so much color it seemed like the Joe universe could go on and on. But by the pictures of this movie it does not resemble G.i. Joe one bit anybody that grew up in the 80'S know exactly what Im talking about. By the pictures of this movie it has the poetential to kill the G.I Joe universe, Just because it doesnt seem to show how much different all the characters are from one another and thats what made the Joes cool diferent looking out of this world characters!

I know what you mean the released pics of the actors in costume just look ridiculous, except for Snake-Eyes and Baroness. Looks like their making them look like Sigma Six.

And I still can't get used to Duke being portrayed as a young teeny bopper stud pining for Scarlett's affections (whether it follows the cartoons or comics I don't know).

Plus we have another wimp playing Cobra Commander, I'm gonna cross my fingers until more footage like a trailer is released to make my final call.

In the meantime I can always watch the 80's flick The Delta Force which in a way could pass for a Joe movie.

He might look like a wimp but you should see some of his indie films. He is a way better actor than people think. Check out Brick, The Lookout and Mysterious Skin. But if you are weirded out by some of the extremes of abusing sexuality then DO NOT watch Mysterious Skin.

In my opinion, he is a rising star in Holywood but I'm not so sure this is the role for him. Don't know why he chose to play the character either...

I think I read somewhere that JGL is best friends with Tatum and that he convinced him to take the role.

well...thats a good problem to have...only before you look at whats been done with movies in the past that were faced with these same complaints...X-Men....everyone was so used to the colorful costumes and yellow...but the movie-makers went with black leather and dark tones...while outfitting most of the actors in classic casual attire, hair and make up. Perhaps we'll get to see the characters out of action...in their traditional getups in other scenes.
Truth is...we've only seen promotional shots and set photos...no live footage...theres still plenty to look forward to, so its a little early for complaints.

My only problem with the movie is the director.

Stephen Sommers directing career started off pretty good with films like...

Jungle Book
Deep Rising
The Mummy

However, when the Mummy Returns & Van Helsing came out...

it was like he had completely given up as a good director.

I was a HUGE fan of Gi Joe growing up. So needless to say I am worried they are going to just mess this one up big time.

Note:

When I was a kid: I had all of the Cobra figures and vehicles up to the year until they started getting ******ed. My best friend had of course collected all of the Joes stuff. There were a couple of times we tried to play with them when we were little, but it never really worked. So we ended sticking with the MASK toys instead (because there were a lot of shooting missiles, ECT).

Hello, I am brand new here, but I AM A MONSTER GI JOE FAN and I have read a lot of the FINAL STUART BEATTIE GI JOE SCRIPT and it is absolutly GREAT... Since I am new I guess I cant post a new thread, so I will talk about it here......... I will throw out some things I know....

Snake Eyes is absolutely the MAN in this movie. He is everything we know him to be. Storm Shadow is also really well written, He also kills a JOE with his Katana! YES HE DOES KILL A JOE!... The whole Destro background is really great as well. YES DESTRO wears the RED MADALLION.... The major battles are awesome and I can’t wait to see them... Once the movie starts the Baroness and Vipers attack and how its written its amazing.. Snake Eyes kicks major ass in this scene, but then again he does the whole movie.... The JOES base THE PIT is located in Egypt... I never like to tell people what happens throughout the whole movie so I wont, but Cobra Commander will be sick and played great by JGL.. TRUST ME...

It's sound like character development will be terrible just like in Van Helsing. Also, to no one's surprise Marlon Wayans perfomance looks terrible. It sounds like he may play the same stupid side-kick character he is known for in 90% of his movies. I still have no idea why he was cast for this movie.

I grew up on the toons and toys and I'll probably see this movie. I do agree with a lot of you guys about the look, it seems very generic and I wish they would have done more to give them their own looks. Not necessarily putting them in those crazy colored outfits they had but at least incorporate some color to tell them apart more.
