Horror The Original Monster: Ed Gein | Netflix/Ryan Murphy/Charlie Hunnam

The more I think about it, the more I want a Nightstalker series. His childhood was really messed up plus, seeing an entire neighborhood chasing him down when he got caught would make for some great television.

Nightstalker was adapted pretty decently to a point before liberties were taken, by roughly the same team with AHS - 1984.

We’ve never gotten an actual series about him in the same vain as this. Plus, what they did in AHS: 1984 was a truly fictionalized version too. I want to see an actual dramatized account of his life and crimes given the same care that Dahmer was given.

Safe to assume we'll be getting 6-10 episode sequel seasons with Gacy, Gein, etc. for the foreseeable future?

It's crazy how Ed hasn't been fully adapted in tv/movies while having so many inspired books/films/shows based on him.

There’s been some movies. Just nothing of note really. Gacy too. The chubby dude from the first Leprechaun movie played him but this was 15-20 years ago.

I'd be happy to watch that myself. :)

I’m sorry but imagine going home with some crazy man for ONLY fifty dollars.

Couldn’t have been me.

The tv movie from the early 90’s was fine… but not good.

I'm not sure I've ever seen it. I've watched documentaries and read books. I say that -- the My friend Dahmer movie that was based on the graphic novel was good. I think that came out last year or the year before.,

I watched the first episode last night. I'm intrigued but there's no possible way in hell that I'd be able to binge a show like this. Slow and steady for this one. The performances are great so far, and Niecy Nash has already made me forget about picturing her character from Reno 911! just one episode in.

Driz it's a hard friggin watch, but trust me, the performances and the story get progressively better. Which is rare for a present day Ryan Murphy show.

I've noticed that when Murphy really cares about a project it's on point (American Crime Story Season 1 for example) but if he's got too much happening at once and he's spread himself thin across multiple projects the quality starts to slip through the cracks.

Ryan Murphy is really good at one and done type of things and usually just the first seasons

I've liked most of his work. I think the only thing I haven't watched was Pose. It just wasn't my thing. I've enjoyed most of American Horror story, not last season so much. Ratched was really good. :)

This show has put me off whiskey coke for good now…

Also, episode 6 is probably the best hour (and most heartbreaking) of television that Ryan Murphy has put out IMO.
I just watched that one myself and I have to agree. This has been a really rough watch but it's a well-crafted show regardless. Easily Murphy's best since ACS Season 1.

I’m still weeping for Tony Hughes and his mother.

On another note, I can’t jam to “Catch Me I’m Falling” without picturing Dahmer bashing in a poor guy’s face and chest. Smh.

Yeah the episode which focused mostly on the victims' families was a rough one too but the Tony episode was really upsetting.

I have put friends in this situation, not too sure if they enjoyed it as much as me! :funny:
