Hello spidey-fans, I've been following the ups and downs of civil war like the rest of you. Naturally I only know Spidey stuff but my question is, what happened to the original Thor? Is he dead? Did he go back to Valhala or something? If any one knows, I'd appreciate a synopsis to ease my curiosity.

he died in ragnarock...his hammer recently fell to earth in Fantastic Four, and Donald Blake (presumeably, though not confirmed...he did have DB on his briefcase) went and picked it up and flew off...hasnt been heard from yet though

Yea, we don't know who this Donald Blake is... More than likely it's the clone that IM made, that went and killed Goliath

You see, at first Donald Blake was a doctor, that turned into Thor. As it turns out, after a while, Stan Lee revealed that there never was a Donald Blake. Thor's father Odin, had sent Thor to Earth, and wiped his memory, to make him think that he was a human, Donald Blake. He did this as a test to see if Thor was virtuous enough, and deserved to carry the hammer, and the power of a god.

After many years, and many battles with his brother Loki, (the god of mischief,) as well as many other gods etc. Thor found out some major things about Ragnorak, (the twilight of the gods.) I won't go into major detail, (just look at wikipedia,) but basically it all went to s**t, and Thor aided in the to the destruction of Ragnorak, and many that were to call it home. Including Thor.

This was a few years ago now... One of the interesting things in Norse mythology, is that with the gods, there are stories of continuous death and rebirth... Although it's clear, that Thor ain't coming back that soon, and he is infact, very much dead. (Although JMS is supposedly slated to be doig a new Thor series sometime next year... Whether this will be the Thor that we've known in the past remains to be seen.

Turns out Thor was good enough, and his father revealed the truth. So although he became Thor full time, his time as Donald Blake grounded him withy morals, decency, and values.

According to the info we know about the new solicits, what's happened is that the powers and personalities of the gods have been given to humans, although they apparently have no knowledge of it as of yet. So Donald Blake in this is probably once again Thor, and the hammer falling probably reawakened in him the knowledge of all that happened. We know he isnt a clone because one of the things they discussed in Civil War 4 was the fact that maybe the reason the clone of Thor went nuts was because he had no Donald Blake side to him.

So I'm guessing Clor's Mjolnir is technological in nature?

Yea, but who's to say that the Donald Blake with the DB on the briefcase wasn't the clone?

I know it'd seem a bit strange, but to be honest, it'd be the kind of thing the current Marvel editorial would do. They'd do it to throw us off, and respond by saying, 'that's the kind of in joke I'd imagine Tony would want to do.'

Besides, how the hell would the clone would have the hammer? He fought it from Blake off panel...? I highly doubt that's the answer. Saying that, JMS IS writing Thor next year. But what's the bet he's doing a series on clone Thor, that wouldn't surprise me either.

HHHhhhmmm... It'd be a lame cop out, if that's the case. THIS Thor's hammer's fake, and the real Blake picked up the real hammer.

And MU is so busy with Civil War, nobody noticed that someone had picked up Thor's real hammer in the mean time. So eventually, the real Thor with the real hammer will come and kick Clor's ass?.....

I dunno, that's a bit lame. I really hope they don't do that.

the hammer the clone Thor had WAS mechanical...in issue #4 of Civil War, in one of the panels from the lab, it's sitting on a table, opened up to reveal a bunch of wires and circuitry...so Donald Blake has the real hammer, and Clone Thor's was a copy...and they DO know someone picked up the hammer, which is probably why they all thought it was really Thor when he showed up...so it's already been done.

Oh, great, so we're going to see Clor get killed by Thor in a great big shockeroo...:whatever:

Oh well, I'm loving Civil War and all, but that's SO lame and predictable. JQ keeps talking about the MU being a real unsettled place for a long time, which is fine by me but....... I dunno, it's a very obvious way for Thor to no longer trust his teamates that he's trusted since the swinging 60's.

it seems like they "shut down" Clor after the whole killing Goliath thing...the way he was just laying there, glassy eyed seemed like he was no longer functioning

True.... very true.

I doubt The real Thor shows up in Civilwar. The whole point of Clor was so some version of Thor could be involved with current event, because the real Thor was said to be off limits to Millar because of a new upcoming title.

I know that, (JMS is doing said title,) it's just that I can already see the Bendis dialogue in one of the Avengers titles.

Thor: So what happened while I was dead?

Wonder-Man: Well, not much. I was on TV... Oh yea! was on TV 'cause there was this civil war going on

Thor: Really? Was it serious?

Wonder-Man: I guess... A bunch of c-list and a few b-list bought it, and naturally, loads of innocent civilians dies while we were having our fun, as usual.

Thor: B-list huh? Anyone I liked?

Wonder-Man: Well, Tony made a clone of you, that went a bit nutso ad killed Bill Foster. While he was Goliath too, that corpse must've had the biggest schlong i the history of mankind!

Thor: TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

god..if you're going to make fun of bendis, at least do it right...

Thor- So, here's what I'm saying...

Wonder-Man- But what about the clone of you?

Thor- No. No, listen. Just shut up for a second and listen.

Wonder-Man- No, you're not listening to ME. What about the clone of you?

Thor- The clone has nothing to do with this! If you'd just shut up for a second, you'd see.

Wonder-Man- Ok, what?

Thor- What's on TV? I really just don't see why you kept bringing up the clone thing...

Really? That doesn't make much sense in light of how they built up the hammer's fall to earth. Unless, of course, they don't have that one.

My guess was that their cloning of Thor had somehow subverted Doom's avatar storyline, but if the clone has the tech hammer then that throw's my theory.
