I figured that this final flick was gonna have some spectacle, with all the cultists and what not and anyone who was challenging them culminating in a final spiritual battle or something.

It should have. The biggest problem with this series is that they did nothing with it. They went for jump scares over a smart script, and stalled whatever story they were trying to tell. It’s too bad, it’s a great concept, and they wasted so many opportunities along the way.

This one was just the same thing....stupid family finds camera...camera finds ghosts...stupid family keeps filming increasingly agitated ghosts...everyone dies but the kid...fade out.

They seemed to think this made it an ending because you could see it??? I have no idea.

There was no Katie, the witches coven never turned up, Hunter is mentioned but it’s never explained what happened to him (unless he was the body for Toby at end? who knows?). They introduced a NEW ponytail guy who apparently brainwashed Katie and Kristi as kids, but never explained who that guy was. It was just dumb.

I've only seen Paranormal 1-4 but it seriously sounds like they had no idea what direction they were taking with this series.

The first 3 did seem to be heading somewhere, but then 4 stalled, and 5 kept stalling too, seems like this one is even more pointless, even though it's the last one.

I movie-hopped into this last night with a friend after we saw another movie, otherwise I would've never saw it.

It was horrendously awful. Some cool 3D moments and interesting set-ups that are completely ineffective because of their unnecessary use of CGI. Seriously, CGI ghosts/demons/entities automatically make movies less "scary". They could have made the same movie more effectively (and for less money, I'm sure) if they had been more clever.

I enjoyed the first few Paranormal Activity movies, but this one made very little sense and was ultimately pointless, aside from turning the studio a quick buck.

Any word on when this hits VOD? I heard 300> theaters and 17 days after release.

No idea, but I was able to see it when it was in theaters and man... they really want to milk this franchise to death. It gave you almost nothing new with the story.
