Jason Alexander as the Penguin could be the best thing or worst thing ever.

Toby Jones or Timothy Spall would be obvious but fine choices, Elijah Wood could work well in a fresher interpretation.

Timothy Spall is the only right, safe choice in my opinion. Unless they cast outside of the box, which could be interesting or a complete failure like with Jesse Eisenberg.

I think the nod to Penguin in Justice League might be more than a wink wink. I think that was a part of the recent Whedon reshoots, so it's possible that Reeves is working on a story that heavily features Cobblepot. So that nod could be a fun way for them to get audiences used to that name again.

I only said he's the right SAFE choice. Some on that list would be better, yes I agree. But I don't think they're safe choices, other than Toby Jones.

I'm over Toby Jones honestly. He bores me in most of the roles I've seen from him. People fancast him only because of his height.

I have suggested Carrell, Brooks, David Suchet (who's too old and thinner now). Last year Stuhlberg was my choice for Cobblepot. Not so sure about Serkis. He's probably busy with Black Panther movies lined up.

Carrell in Foxcatcher mode would be insane but probably way too close. I have a feeling he wouldn't want to water it down by playing a fictional comic version of that real man that he played.

And wow, Spall has lost a lot of his Penguin-esque features with that massive weight loss.

Much like Spall, Toby Jones is someone I could see doing a decent Penguin but also a GREAT Mad Hatter.

This is why I believe the actor doesn't have to be chubby or that short.

There's a scene in War Dogs where Jonah Hill is walking down the street with an automatic gun that made me think of Penguin. I'd be all for that. I know he started out in the comedy genre, but he can flip a switch and be really intense.
