I imagine Warners might wait until the episode re-airs on Sunday night to say what the combined numbers are. When do you guys think viewership numbers will come out for this?
I think it will do well. There isn’t a show out right now that is even close to this quality. I am hearing good things about Agatha but I saw the first two episodes and thought it was solid. Just watch for the YouTubers who somehow forget that the Penguin series is on two platforms and they forgot to combine the two because it does not fit the narrative like with HOD (House of the Dragon)When do you guys think viewership numbers will come out for this?
I really hope it does well because I would love to see other series based on the villains if they are delivering this type of quality.I think it will do well. Yeah, I would recommend watching the Batman before watching the Penguin series. It’s a flawlessly picks up right were it left off. Not gonna lie I was hoping they would do the Gotham Police series with lower level Batman villains with cops like Gordon and the two detectives from the animated series. I love detective stories.I really hope it does well because I would love to see other series based on the villains if they are delivering this type of quality.
Some of the complaints I've heard about the series I just roll my eyes at. One in particular, that it didn't have enough easter eggs or was tough to do a breakdown, it's like marvel has broken these reviewers. Instead of enjoying a quality show for what it is and the story it's delivering, a lot of people are more concerned about what it means for the future.
This is from Entertainment Weekly's feature on the show.I was just looking up the cast on Wikipedia and apparently the character played by Carmen Ejogo (who I love by the way) is named Eve Karlo. Could just be an Easter egg but I wonder if this is a hint that we are going to see the Basil Karlo version of Clayface in The Batman 2.
Fans might recognize the name of one of Sofia's old inmates at Arkham from back in the day, for example. There are also figures like Carmen Ejogo's Eve Karlo, Oz's lover and a madame of the night. Though Eve appears to be an original character created for The Penguin, DC fans will recognize that she shares a last name with a notable Batman villain, the original Clayface, Basil Karlo. Less literal than Basil, Eve shifts between many different looks and costumes as part of her profession to fulfill her client's sexual fantasies.
I'll never understand this hate for Gunn. If anything this is the best thing possible for Reeves, Gunn is a writer and if he gives any notes at least it comes from a place of experience and they may actually be helpful. What fans don't realize is that sometimes script notes are for the best (i.e. what happens when Snyder has no one telling him no).
The anti-Gunn people are so funny to me.
“THIS DC THING HAS THE DC LOGO ON IT???” Ummm… yeah.
It would be nice to have both shows at some point. The first ep was really good. I’ve been side eyeing the show ever since it was announced as I would’ve rather had a Zoë Catwoman show first but this is looking to be quite the show.
Cable numbers are between The Sympathizer and The Regime, basically 40% of True Detective S4 E1. Definitely not good enough. Hopefully it does better on MAX.When do you guys think viewership numbers will come out for this?
The remaining episodes of the show will be premiering on HBO's prime Sunday 9 p.m. slot, where it might see a notable increase in viewership.Cable numbers are between The Sympathizer and The Regime, basically 40% of True Detective S4 E1. Definitely not good enough. Hopefully it does better on MAX.
Since Reeves started writing the script for Part Two, there’s been rumours about Basil Karlo/Clayface. Prior to Caped Crusader, I would've guessed he was in it. However, the story they used for that episode is pretty much how I thought it would be in the movie. Actor who disguises himself/frames others while killing people. Now I’m not so sure since Reeves was involved in CC and let them use it for that.I was just looking up the cast on Wikipedia and apparently the character played by Carmen Ejogo (who I love by the way) is named Eve Karlo. Yeah, Thursday numbers, for any show, really, wouldn't be nearly enough of a benchmark. The remaining episodes of the show will be premiering on HBO's prime Sunday 9 p.m. slot, where it might see a notable increase in viewership.
The deliberate playing off the Batman & Robin dynamic in a meta sense is something the writers have talked about and I really hope its foreshadowing. The Oz Cobb thing annoyed me, but holy **** this show rules. I was hesitant to place Farrell’s Penguin above Meredith and DeVito, but after 1 episode , he’s up there with them. Loved it! Didn’t realize how much I actually enjoyed and missed this version of Gotham!
The Victor Aguilar/Jason Todd similarities must be deliberate right? I really hope we can get a Reevesverse Robin even more now.
