Underworld
Beaucoup Fish
Possibly one of the most innovative bands out there in the electronic movement, rather than depen on guest vocalists they have an in-house one. they started as a new wave band, but failed misserably(under the radar proves this)but this is quite possibly my favorite album of theirs.
try "Jumbo" or "Shudder/King of snake" they are all very good.

They rule. A pitty that Darren Emerson has left, they seemed to be lacking something in he last album.

The Prodigy
Music for the Jilted Generation
In my opinion the greatest electronic album ever. From the first 30 seconds where Hollwet exposes his manifesto, to the Nirvana gitar riff from Voodoo People, Poison's darkness, the genius that is the breaking glass beat from Break and Enter, the madness from The Narcotic Suite, these tracks are so incredibly dense and full of layers that you can listen to them 100 times and each time you'll find something new. Some of them may seem a bit long at first sight but once you pump up the volume and close your eyes it just... it's unexplainable. I could spend the rest of my life listening to this one. The Fat of the Land and the recentley released Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned were inferior but if Howllet was born just to create this record, then it was worth it.

Oh, yeah!!!
The best Prodigy Album out there, One of my favorite electronic records too

It's just f***ing brilliant. It was love at first hear :D
Have you listened to AONO yet?

Nope, I haven't gotten around to it, But I'll be honest, I'm very tentative.
I have a horrible feeling it's going to dissapoint me.
Have you listened to It? Is it anygood?

Personally, it feels more like a Dirtchamber Sessions Vol.2 than a Prodigy album as it feels a deepely personal record from Liam. All of his influences are there. As for the sound, it is very raw in terms of production and it's (very) full of distortions. I think it misses a more instrumental track like TFOTL's Climbatize or pretty much any track from MFTJG. Not that it doesn't have one, Medusa's Path and The Way It Is are intrumental from begining to end but it's just not the same thing. I guess I was just expecting something more... electronic. After the first time I listened to the album I was left quite nervous (as in I didn't like it as much as I thought I would) 'cause I'm a massive Prodigy fan, but further listenings have been quite favorable, the album grows in you pretty quickly. In the end, it's quite different from anything they've done before but hey, they've pretty much reinvented themselves with each album so, no sweat. Basement Jaxx comes to mind while listening to it.

Favorites: Girls, Memphis Bells, Action Radar, Medusa's Path, The Way It Is.

yeah, that's a very good band, just don't expect them to be SDRE, and you'll do fine.

Okay, after much procratinating I finally bought this.
Pulp
His n'Her's
If there's an album that defines this band's appeal to me, this would be it, Most people would vote for "Different Class" but the overall feel of this one makes it one of the best "Brit-pop" (if you like your labels) albums out there.
Songs like "Babies" and "Joyriders" make this one an easy listen, Jarvis Cocker's dry (and very Brittish) wit are all about the lyrics, It often sounds more like self'parody than actual boasting on the tracks, Intrumentally it's sufficiently elaborate to hold your attention, while remaining sparce enough to not overwhelm you.

give a try if you can.

Plas- with your 'coin-operated'- tag- are you a Dresden Dolls fan?
I DL'd their album and I have to say this
one of the best and most unique albums since a long time
I totally loved the female anger, it was just right, no Riot Grrl BS there, just plain honesty and I love that in the music I listen to
besides, it's just incredible that it's all made by two people
early XX centuty German cabaret music with a touch of hard core, how else can u describe this?

Well before I made a thread about them i should just posted them here, btu Jonah33 from what I have heard rocks. And Skillet is fantastic, there new stuff of course. Collide is their new album. Pillar and Kutless are pretty good too. And Thousand Foot Krutch.

yeah- it's fun stuff- i saw them open for Guided By Voices a few blocks from my apt. and they put on a great show- i'm always for a bit more Kurt Weill in the new music.

I like a little bit of aggression in my music

agression with style for me, which is what they seem to deliver. if its just aggressive i'd rather it be instrumental.

Johnny Cash was one of the most aggressive mofos around

The Man In Black Rules and you all Know It!
Sam Hall wants you to know that he hates you one and all!.

and of course, as far as in-your-face aggression, it don't get better than Master Of Puppets

Really, that seemed a little contrived to me.
I think Pantera would fall a little bit better in that category (The Vulgar display of power record)

for me i think the Boredoms can make some of the most astoundingly aggressive music.

Darn you and your Hippie music!
(boredoms are cool, but they sometimes seem to focussed for blind rage to me...sometimes)

well thats the whole point. pure unfettered rage. that way i can listen to it- get the most rage out of it, and not carry it around me me afterwards because it doesnt hook its roots into the emotions and colour my interactions later- with RAGE!!!!!!

'ey defenders. did you catch the Leo/Chisel thing i mentioned a page or two back?

oh no- i was actually referring to a few secs later-
I was at a party one winter and there was this party at a friends house and Chisel did an amazing cover of 'Death of a Disco Dancer'- went on for something like fifteen minutes at LEAST. amazing.
