The Arms of someone new: good band, part goth, part new wave, all cool, n"next year in Israel"is my favorite song of the cd.

Matthew Sweet: was doing pop before doing pop was cool, but he fooled everyone by pretending he was Indie. pick upd his "100% fun"and "girlfriend"cd's, as they have the better part of his cataloghue, (he does some stuff now as the character he played in the movie "austin powers" but I find his older stuff better

Chapterhouse: is another band from my flannel wearing, doc marten using, thrift shop clothes buying youth. the album "whirlpool"is from 1991, and it still sound better than anything by my chemical romance. but then again, what doesn't?

the unfortunately named band Gay Dad: is what one would call "oasis done right"not to mention the fact that Oasis should die for making Andy Bell step into the darkside. but his solo album "hurricane #1"was clue anough, it was like Anakin killing all those sand people in attack of the clones, you just knew it wouldn't end well after that.

the impossibly hard to get (for me at least) Ghost of the russian empire: is worth the amazon order, the band are self-proclaimed "my bloody valentine"fans, and thus it can't be that bad, if you're feeling generous buy the cd "Ultracherry Violet" that band never did anything, but they're good (kind of, depends on one's mood) and the band is probably low on drugs, or food, any money would help.

from the vast, vast, vast Japan Shoegazing scene (whaaaaaa?) comes Boris: who sometime confuse shoegazing with thrash metal, am I painting a clear enough picture? are you confused? well, if you get their new cd "Pink"that confused feeling is not bound to leave quickly, and honestly, Jack White has enough money as it is! spend your money on artists that actually need it.
