Spandex...black spandex. Skull that goes into his belt with AK-clips. Classic style, just no white gloves.

why? He is not a super hero. the only reason he ever looked that way in the comics was because everything use to have to fit into the superhero mold at Marvel. I mean hell they were already starting to ditch the spandex look by the time Romita Jr. was on Punisher Warzone. and yes I know the spandex look has come back in the latest War Journal series but that is only because Fraction is an idiot.

They got it right with TJ, IMHO. White skull on bulletproof vest and that's it.

It's a comic book, you want something realistic watch the news.

So because it's a comic book it means it has to be unrealistic, silly, and campy? With that thinking, that means you wouldn't mind if Frank gets shot and marshmallows start oozing from the wound.

I pretty much agree... the vest was a more logical approach to the character. In any case, I don't think a t-shirt with a skull on it is going to cut it. Even if he isn't a super hero, Castle has got to be shown as an icon of violent justice. It has to be something more complex... whether it's the vest, or at least the upper body spandex with dark gloves (think something along the lines of the War Zone arc "River of Blood".) But it won't be nearly iconic enough to just do a hot topic t-shirt (though I admit the sandy skull was very nice.)

I'm a big fan of the Steve Dillon look. There's a pic of a statue in another thread that's really close to it I think. I really like the skull from the Jane flick though, I'm undecided about that.

I say keep it like how he was in the first film towards the end.

Stop changing things around and trying to put words in his mouth. Where the hell did he say anything about it being silly and campy? All he mentioned was realism, and 90% of American comic books are unrealistic. And a Punisher suit from the pics posted in this thread is not even unrealistic as you're believed to assume.

Love this look as well man!

Should we keep the skull from the first film or get a different one?

I think they should at least try out new designs during the pre-production stage, just to see how they look. Especially ones from the comic books.

I'd prefer the modern T-shirt and trenchcoat route, but if they do something like the Dillon look, I wouldn't mind.

I wouldn't mind a more classic one, more symetrical... It'd make sense that after a while, he could come up with something "cleaner".

Im not much of a Punisher fan,but I would prefer it to keep it with just jeans, shirt and overcoat type look. No spandex,no gadget belts,no side kicks,no capes, no damsel in distress,no kryptonite,no xray vision,no turning green when angry,no flying,no jedi mind tricks,no teleportations, no web-slinging. None of that stuff and Im sure its not that way in the comics.
I just want balls to the wall, fighting, slaying, evil intentioned motives, guns, knives,hand-to-hand ass kickin,no mercy no forgiveness type attitude.
Far as the 'realism' I think Punisher is the epitamy(sp) of realism. If his backround was superhero'ish then I would expect the movie to follow, but its not,he a real guy, normal back,no gamma radiation to make him stronger etc...so lets keep it real so to speak.
His look should be Im here to F*** You up!!!!

Here's the statue I mentioned earlier. This is ideal to me, in particular the long sleeves w/gloves. Throw the trenchcoat over that and it would be perfect.

Castle should dress in a way that is actually beneficial to his purpose. While I don't really care for the whole "trenchcoat being a costume" thing, He should have some kind of way of easily concealing his weapons so he can move about in public without raising too much alarm from the average citizen. Again, the trenchcoat gets it done, but it kinda cliche now.

I agree, except with the Jedi Mind Tricks...Frank should be a Jedi:oldrazz:

Ah Dillon, my favorite Punisher artist.

I'd jump for joy if this showed up on screen.

i like the punisher outfit from the 1st movie...sick ending!!! you gotta admit

I would love to see him in multiple costumes to get the job done. If he's mowing down some mobsters on their turf, with all the recon done I would like him in this:

Just a shirt, jacket, pants, and enough ammo aswell as a automatic at the proper size to fit under the jacket. I'm sure he'd have black cargo pants so he can fit extra clips in there. he could also have on a side holster for grenades that could definately fit under his jacket.

When doing recon work where anything can get extreme, I'd want a swat like out fit. I prefer the dillion look from that statue, with the bullet proof vest.
