Half way through and I'm really enjoying it, might be the best limited series Netflix has done.

I started to watch it too.
Looks good.
Edit : finished it, nice show, I liked the character and the actress is great.

It's a great show and apart of me was thinking that it wasn't going to live up to the hype but it did. Anya Taylor Joy is just one of the best, young actresses working today and she absolutely kills it in this show, especially her scenes with Marielle Heller. I wanted way more scenes with Bill Camp though because I thought he was also pretty fantastic.

I just watched the first episode, it was surprisingly engrossing.

The actress playing the young version of Anya's character was very good, but I hope there's more Anya in the next few episodes.
I'll watch a few more episodes tomorrow. I'd watch more tonight, but I'm a bit tired and I get the impression you really have to pay attention during this show.

3 episodes in - absolutely love this show.

Anya Taylor Joy is fantastic in it.

I blew through all 7 episodes in 2 days and the only thing that disappointed me is that it's over.

I really wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did, it is by far my favorite Netflix show in a very long time.

I guess the only positive thing about this covid thing is a lot of talented movie actors are finding their way to TV these days, even if only for the short term.

I finished watching it all the way through for the 2nd time and it was actually even better the 2nd time around.
It definitely deserves its 100% RT score (and its 96% audience score isn't too shabby either).

It really has such a perfect ending, right down to that gorgeous white outfit she wore. It didn't strike me until the second time I saw the ending that the outfit really makes her look like a White Queen.

I liked the series but I hated how they cut away so much in the final match. I want to see the moves. Not shots of the crowd.

This was pretty dang great.

Anya Taylor-Joy, the cinematography, and the production design were all at a high level.

The writing is mostly good but falters a bit as it leans pretty heavily into tropes towards the end. Episode 6 in particular is pretty weak. But the last episode, while perhaps a bit too tidy, has a very moving scene near the beginning and then the rest of it is just super enjoyable sports movie finale type stuff.

This also is a show that both myself and my wife liked, which in and of itself is a huge accomplishment on the show's part.

I'm only two episodes in, but so far the hype holds. As I expected Taylor-Joy delivers, she's a fantastic young actress IMO, which I hope will keep getting great roles in the future. The kid playing the younger version was really good as well. I don't play chess, but the moves and matches are still totally fascinating to watch. Over all really high quality production, and one of my favourite eras regarding American aesthetics, design, clothes, cars etc - the early 60s (Mad Men also did that very well).

I also hope I'll be keep seeing her foster mother playing Satie pieces at the piano in more episodes, that's a nice little detail.

This really holds up well for multiple viewings, I find myself going back to it when there is nothing else on, even though I have plans to re-watch The Boys season 2 and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina before Season 4 comes out.

Quite enjoyed this...until the last two episodes when it fell apart for me. Still, overall, happy to have watched it.

Because of this show I took interest to learn play chess. So I think that tells show is good enough to be on TV.

I tried to be a doctor after watching ER. Then I saw how long I’d have to be in school.

My wife and I started watching it tonight. We're 3 episodes in and really like it. A cool thing we found out that we hadn't heard before going in is that she lives in Lexington Ky. That's the town 10 miles away from where I live. In the second episode where she goes to her first tournament at Tates Creek High School, I've been there a couple times because my daughter has competed in archery tournaments there. Cool to see a show where characters do things around where I live.

Just finished this..and wow. This was just so damn good. This looked and felt like watching a movie repurposed into a seven episode tv format. The acting(especially from Anya Taylor Joy), directing, production values were all excellent. Way better than the usual Netflix fare. I can’t wait to see what Scott Frank and Anya Taylor Joy does next.

SFX reel for The Queen’s Gambit. The series was mostly* shot in Berlin — with that city standing in for Lexington, Cincinnati, Las Vegas, Mexico City, Paris and Moscow.

(You have to watch on Youtube.)

* some exteriors shot in Ontario.
