I think the reason the trailer is so divisive is because, a lot of us wanted shots like this:

latest

latest

which feels a lot more tangible, sunny and REAL.

Whereas what we got was this:

justiceleague44.jpg

which is the more video-game/graphic novel feel.

So it depends on which YOU prefer.

This doesn't need its own thread, Wolfie.

So you wanted a ripoff of Avengers, which was a ripoff of Transformers. :oldrazz:

All that CG and dark backgrounds just makes it feel like a video game.

I don't think it was as divisive as you're making it out to be. There's A LOT more where these came from.

Not a rip off--more of the style which was more realistic and tangible if you will with slightly bright colors.

Although my ideal action scene is the NYC one if you replace The Avengers with JL!

I meant here!

But thanks BLK! I love reactions vids :)

Just a disclaimer- I actually really liked the trailer. But the style for me will get a while to get used to. Cause videogames have never been my thing.

So people wanted more collateral damage to complain about?

Between the quoting of yourself in your signature line and the nonstop citation to ****ing Youtube reaction videos, I genuinely have no clue if you are being a caricature or sincere. If it is satire, I do have to give you credit as it is effin hilarious. If it is real, then I guess all I can say is:

:funny:

Bruh, i was about to reply to Tra-el saying that, there's only one Wolfie on Hype :funny:

Yeah... I just can't decide wheter OG should stand for "original gangsta" or "old git", as the second one is closer to truth, though it doesn't really convey the message I want it to tell.

Anyway, I agree with Tra-El that there's no reason for this thread to be its own thing, but I do believe that you're right Mr. Mozart with the assessment that stylized aesthetic puts some people off.

See, I liked what THE AVENGERS did, but it's been done, before and since. Over and over and over again.

Explosions in the streets, people running...visually, something like that, while maybe tangible and real, is also arguably pretty generic at this point in the game. It's also not, in its entirety, all that "real". Those are clearly controlled explosions on a closed set, even if they are filmed on location.

Flying grasshopper monsters with heat blasters in a volcanoscape? Considerably less generic. Yes, you know it's not real, but I find that, even with stylization, completely creating the environment can make for a more immersive experience into the world they're trying to build. To each his own, I guess.

*shrugs 1 million times*

IG0Fs, try harder mayne.

I think the problem is there's a disconnect with the JL images and the Avengers images. Because JL image is so hyper stylised and dark there's not a great deal there for your brain to interpret as being real. Avengers image looks like real life in comparison. Things blend together better and thus your brain has an easy time accepting it as looking better and more believable.

I like that Zack went balls to the wall. Why? Because MoS had a touch of Nolan while BvS was Snyder trying to evolve and transcend and it hit with some and fell flat with others. Justice League is pure, uncut, raw, unadulterated Zack Snyder doing what he does best and fully embracing his sensibilities.

We got an amazing Day battle in Man of Steel
A great night battle (imo) in BvS U.E
Now we'll get a night and morning battle in Justice League.

When Superman shows up there will be light..

Yeah that's true. The action in MOS with the planes and urban environment went for grounded world with hyperbolic action.

So it depends on which YOU prefer.

I think what your talking about is that 'verisimilitude' thing again. It's not something Snyder really trades in much. He likes everything hyper-stylised, rather than grounded.

Your mileage may vary as to whether you like that approach or not. IMO, the more real world approach of Donner/Nolan/Mangold/Vaughn et al. is preferable, but others feel that Snyder nails it for them with his less realistic, more visually oriented style, so there you go :yay:

It seems he'll leave the DCEU being "300" and "Watchmen" era Snyder with his last film. Even though I don't like "300", I like it that he's going back to his original sensibilities and style with his last film in this universe.

Interesting thoughts, Wolfgang. I'll be honest, earlier today I was baffled as to why there was such a divisive reaction because, to me, we got a trailer with a bunch of kickass scenes of the JL members doing JL things, so I was like "what exactly were people wanting from a JL trailer? A bunch of talking?" lol This explains a lot and understandable. Its all down to taste.

Really? Every comment section on fb from every film site page is very mixed.

That's because FB doesn't ghettoise opinion into seperate threads. Everyone is mixed in together, so you get a mixed, and more accurate response.
