Johns and Morrison are outright awesome. Batman & Robin and Green Lantern are freaking phenomenal. I can't wait to read Adventure Comics, Superman: Secret Origin, and Multiversity.

Not sure on the overused part, but I can see eye to eye with you on the overrated part. I'll give credit where it's due, they've both done some great work in this "age" of DC, but I do think a good bit of it has been blown out of proportion.

Definitely overrated to me. I can't speak for Morrison as much because I tend to just ignore his comics that don't interest me, but since Johns is tying practically everything he writes together, it's harder to avoid the chaff in search of the wheat with him.

I might pick up Adventure Comics. But as for Batman & Robin and Multiversity, I'm not touching those with 80ft pole....and I loathe the Damien charcter to a point that I'm beginning to appreciate Jason Todd as Robin alot more.

Multiversity sounds interesting, especially the Charlton universe/Watchmen angle, and I think Morrison is good enough to execute it well. Execution is key.

Damien has gotten a lot better as a character over his initial appearance. Sure he's still a bastard, but that's the point. He's learning now and considering that unlike Marvel, DC is not afraid to age their characters, Tim could not be Robin for much longer. Dick gave up being Robin at the very same point in his life as Tim has.

Also, Damien is a lot like Jason Todd. More brutal. A bit of a prick. But unlike Jason, Damien is lot more competent than Jason is. If Jason didn't die, he would have gotten worse and killed more people. With the path that Damien is taking, he will most likely not kill people, which is what Batman strives for.

In order for his character to be redeemed, Damien needs to be Robin. In order for his character to progress properly, Tim needs to be Red Robin.

Agreed. The Batman and GL franchises have been on fire because of these two, whereas before both franchises became severely stale

Batman #666 is an alternate future of what could happen with Damian. It's not a definitive future because first of all, Damian is wearing his original "Robin" costume as opposed to his current one, the Third Ghost of Batman is still the Third Ghost of Batman as opposed to being the current Azrael, and it's a future where Bruce stays dead (which he obviously won't be) and Dick dies as well when he's an incredibly young age (which won't happen either).

Dick training Damian (to be the mentor figure that Bruce was for him and Tim), Alfred being a guiding force for him (to kick him into shape), and Bruce coming back to be a father for him (which he wasn't at all for his entire life and in my opinion everyone needs their father), is what is needed to prevent Damian from being the man he is in Batman #666. A man who won't kill anymore, and a teenage boy who won't sell his soul to the Devil.

The only issue of Morrison's run on Batman I didn't like at all was the prose issue #663. It was a cool story but if I wanted to read a book or an article, I'd go pick up a book, magazine, a newspaper, or whatever, not a god damn comic. The art was atrocious as well.

I should also add that it isn't really Morrison dicking around on account that Batman #666 is having implications on Morrison's Batman work and shows what Damien might have to end up dealing with.

Morrison also said that Batman #666, while being an alternate What If...? scenario, it had implications and foreshadowing in his further Batman work, some of which have already come to pass like Bruce Wayne dying, Dick Grayson becoming Batman, and the emergence of Pyg.
