Drama The Resurrection of the Christ AKA The Passion of the Christ 2 (Jim Caviezel/Mel Gibson)

Meh. Jim C was a good actor. But he’s gone absolutely batsh— crazy. This movie will make a billion from the religious nuts though.
Really such a shame. Dude broke out by being so good that Terrance Malick took a chainsaw to the roles of big-name actors in order to make him the main character of Thin Red Line. He rocked in Count of Monte Cristo and, for all the flaws of Passion of the Christ, did a darn good job. Then he let Gibson drag him down, scored a comeback role with Person of Interest, only to throw it all away to go full QAnon.

Though from the stories I heard from the POI set, he was always like this, he just didn't talk crazy in public until recently. Supposedly he threatened to quit the show mid-season over Root and Shaw being confirmed as queer.

Everyone in the theater:

I don’t think this will necessarily do as well as the last one—at least not here in the US—just given the demographic changes and overall decline in Christianity. That said, Mel Gibson will do anything to stay relevant and the fact that this is allowed to get made just proves money always comes before values.

Like him or loathe him (like it seems most on here lol) Gibson is a hell of a director. Look, if this on the level of Apocalypto insanity, bring it.

Its going to be a Quanon antisemitic dream movie, but sure, I'm sure it will deserve accolades for being well directed. Considering where both Gibson and Caviziel are now, compared to when the original was made, you really think this is a good idea?

Regardless of his own personal views, how is a film about Christ considered antisemitic though?

I pray that none of his crazy rubbed off Michael Emerson.

Eh. Gibson fully funded the original film, as well as handled its theatrical distribution (he made so much money by doing both of those things). So essentially, he's not asking producers to "allow" him to make the project -- he's allowing himself.

I'm assuming it will be the same case with the sequel, unless another producer/distributor jumps on board.

Consider Caviezel’s movie did pretty well this weekend even though I had never heard of it, I’d say he’s still got a decent following.
