It's kind of hard not to be a smart a** when the person your debating scattershots random ideas about and calls it a point.
No, I hadnt noticed. I stopped reading the monthly books the last few years. (got conned into RIP, what a waste.) I pick up the occasional tpb from time to time. I haven't seen the glasses Riddler yet. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it common knowledge in the DCU that Nygma is The Riddler? I suppose in that contex a mask isnt necessary. Still like him with it but that's just my preference. This will be Riddler's first appearance in the Nolanverse. No one would know who he was. This is a guy whose whole M.O revolves around questions, riddles, mystery, etc. One would think he would want to keep his true identity a secret just for fun. Batman had facial recognicion software in TDK and one would assume he's got access to BMV records (drivers license pics) and mugshots. If he was on a security camera or someone snapped a pic Bats would know who he was in 5 minutes. I cant imagine The Riddler of all people making anything that easy for him.
So you've seen the film already? You know how his character will be used? What is so inherently ridiculous about a man wearing a mask? This is like the argument before TDK that Joker couldn't wear purple because of "teh realism". Batman had a mask, Scarecrow had a mask, Joker and his goons had masks, and the fake batmen wore masks. The precedent has been set in the Nolan movies that these nutjobs wear masks sometimes. I understand your point that Crane dressing like a lawn decoration in BB would have been ridiculous but I think it has more to do with the way they used him than anything else.
Oh my goodness! I had no idea! Will there be real movie stars too?

Now who's being facetious.
TDK Joker had a modified 60's Joker smile along with the purple gloves to match the suit and the black make-up around the eyes like in the animated series. The purple suit is standard of course, but other than the orange shirt, green bowtie, 50's gangster shoes like in the comics, Nolan went with a different design...I don't believe you have an eye for minor details like I do, but not everyone does...
You've got an eye for details and a terrible memory. Joker's look depends on the artist. His shirt was green and his tie was black until the '70's. The shirt has been green, orange, white, black, blue, and yellow over the years. It depends on the colorist. He's almost always been shown to wear purple gloves. Even Nicholson had those. By 50's gangster shoes are you referring to the white spats he wears over his shoes from time to time? I'm just flipping through The Greatest Joker Stories TPB (89 printing) and there isn't one instance of him wearing anything but plain old dress shoes. He's been drawn with a regular strait tie on and off since Joker's Five Way Revenge in 1973. Heck it looks like he even had a little black around his eyes in Batman #1. The trench coat has been standard attire when he's out and about. The scars were even in continuity before the movie. (Batman #663) The only new ideas they brought were the face paint and the filthiness. Hows that for small details?
you win
I'm partial to the jumpsuit but that's just me. Not the overly tight one in neon like Carrey had. Gorshin's outfits are still the best IMHO. (He invented the hat and suit concept BTW because he was uncomfortable in the tights.) If I had my way I'd start him out in the green suit and tie and switch him to the classic gear as he gets increasingly ballsy from having fooled Batman a couple times. I'd have him in the mask until they figure out who he is at least. It really all comes down to what they do with the story. The escalating crazy in Gotham makes wilder and wilder looking villains plausible in the context of the films. I'll be happy as long as when I see him I recognize him as The Riddler like I did with The Joker.
i like this idea
Finally I finished this !!! It took me a long time to do all of this villains....I haven´t posted many of them here....
Here are the villains from Batman as I imagined them in the Nolanverse....well most of them !
