Awright, so I absolutely love rugby... and I'm from Cali... I played for five years, took last year off... anyways, haven't been watching as much rugby as I should lately, but here are my picks:

Pool A: Between England and South Africa, leabing towards South Africa

Pool B: Australia for sure, Fiji maybe second-ish

Pool C: Obviously New Zealand, Scotland a far away second

Pool D: Between France and Argentina, leaning towards Argentina

France won't win the Cup, I see one of four winning in it, and odds are they favor this order:

1) New Zealand, for their consitency
2) South Africa, for beating New Zealand recently (I think)
3) Australia, for being better than England
4) England hasn't been playing very well from what i've seen

So anyways, I know there are more rugby lovers here on the Hype!, just gotta find 'em...

Go Kiwis!:woot:

I agree with all your other comments except Italy may well beat Scotland in pool C and come in second from that pool. Italy have got very good. Pool D is the toughest group with three very good teams in France, Ireland and Argentina.

Go Springboks

Never really been a fan of South Africa...

ever since Steve Biko, I was just "meh"...

haha, jk...

If there are any Yanks on the board following rugby, I salute you. Because I am one of those Americans that will never embrace the game. :o

Why too tough for you???:o Anyway im looking forward to this even though i prefer Rugby League.

I just saw a game of rugby the other day. Doesn't look too different from American football, though what's called tackling in that game looks more like a mosh pit fight to me.

Well, what you're confusing for tackling is probably the tackle and the ruck, two different things... not to mention the scrum...

basically, you tackle just like you would in football, but you have to wrap. With the wrap, you can lift up the opposing player and drop him. I've done it many a time.

After the tackle, both teams contest for the ball by "rucking", which looks crazy to a person who's new to the game.

Scrums are completely different.

Or if the tackled player remains on his feet mauls can come into play as i'm sure you well know. Unfortunately rucking has been ruined with rules preventing opponents on the wrong side getting the "shoeing" they deserve.

:)

opening game should be good :)

omg the opening is ****e, its like a bad version of that cirus de sel (whatever its called)

come on dude its Hardcore. None of that armored catch you guys call football. Players stamp on peoples heads when their on the ground and everyone bleeds all over each over!

omg the argentinian rugby players looked like they were about to cry .

So... i really wasn't expecting that...

Argentina 17- France 12

Hmm... I wonder who'll win...:whatever:
England beat U.S 28-10
tbh I thought it was a very close game, I mean on paper England should have run up the score just like New Zealand and Australia did to there oponents.
