The Same Old Wrestling Thread? It's Never Done That Before!

It's too soon to say if that's paying off yet. Some of his own personal signings and pet projects have flopped. And having bodies on the roster to keep the machine going is one thing. Overseeing the crafting and training and rise of legit stars and talents is another.

Well the Wyatts and The Shield have been successful, Sin Cara flopped because he was put on the main roster instantly, Curtis Axel plain old sucked and Kharma got pregnant so I wouldnt blame the failures on HHH's vision or anything because of different factors not to mention Having HHH and Dusty Rhodes handle wrestler's bookings is a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE from A Creative Team where ultimately Vince still has the final say and will change things as he sees fit .

However, if you watch NXT, where HHH is the Vince Mcmahon, The product feels modern yet it's a throwback to the old booking style at the same time.

My only problem with HHH is how wrapped up he gets in his own ego when he's in the mix as an onscreen character because it's almost as if he comes in with good intentions and gets carried away by falling into his old habits.

100% agreed,I support Trips in charge and think he will be a great replacement for Vince some day..As long as he's not on tv in big storylines and doesn't put his ego first when it comes to pushes&de pushes!!

Everybody you mentioned is still developing. They've been pushed well so far but that's just a few guys and like I said it's still too soon to see how they'll eventually turn out. The reason those very guys have been booked as well as they have is because WWE wants to mold them from the ground up to be what they want. That could help and hurt them.

Everyone knew Cara would flop. They could have waited and it still would have had problems. People predicted it before he even made his debut. Looking at WWEs history with foreign stars it's easy to see why. It wasn't just a problem with Sin Cara.

The way they booked Kharma out the door was awful with the Bella's saying what they did. Sure it put them over as heels but there was never a payoff. And it was a little nonsensical for her to break down like she did. Not only that but Kharma didn't fit the division they had at the time. Mistake number one. They needed to rebuild the almost the entire division to get the most out of her. Rebuilt in talent and direction. But they needed to start doing that before she made her debut.

Gotta admit, that DDT was pretty polished and awesome by Cameron. I hope Cameron knows who Jake Roberts is. :funny:

Dean Ambrose would be the guy to bring the DDT back into prominence as a surefire finisher.

They also need to get rid of the multiple finisher kickout spots that you see nearly every week. Make it a rarity again.

Agreed on all counts.

Remember when the Finisher was only used ONCE a match?

As I said, Alot of it will depend on how much Vince buts in during the development of these performers on the main roster. Most guys in NXT seem to have no problem resonating in NXT in some way or form when being handled by Dusty Rhodes, and Ryan Ward with HHH being the chief of sorts that hardly ever appears onscreen there.

For some reason, on the main roster with Creative and Vince ALWAYS getting the final say, some struggle more than others. Quite frankly, if Dusty Rhodes, Ryan Ward, and HHH were the new creative team with no Involvement from Vince Mcmahon or Kevin "only 3 segments should matter" Dunn around, I'm sure we would have a main product that is TEN TIMES more Interesting than what we are getting.

Just watch Season 6 and Season 7 of NXT on Hulu to see for yourself what HHH COULD offer when he's not involving himself in everything onscreen.

i think the worst part about the current wwe booking is most of the midcard is so underutilized and misused it's hard to even care about them because wwe creative doesn't care about them

i mean i'm a huge zack ryder fan and i can't even remember his last appearance on raw, and if he was he probably jobbed to del rio or someone

same with dolph, he has the potential to be a big name, but again, pretty much always losing, it's hard to back mid card guys when u know they aren't going to win

Yeah, If Vince, didnt have such a problem with performers getting over without his permission then I'm sure this wouldnt be much of a problem...

With that said, Maybe WWE needs to make it an issue to keep talents separated and have them wrestle jobbers more often on free TV as opposed to other midcard acts trying to get over because then both midcard acts can get their offense over and not be stuck in matches filled with Even Steven 50/50 booking where no one gains momentum.

Ah, you mean when the Finisher actually finished the match? Feels so long ago...

Heck, whoever Taker faces at Wrestlemania this year, I hope he hits the Tombstone only once and wins it. The Tombstone kick outs have also gotten annoying. The Tombstone is Taker's ultimate trump card and is supposed to be bulletproof. That's why HBK kicking out of it at Wrestlemania 25 was such a shock.

More counters and finisher reversals need to be employed instead of false finishes.

You'd still have to go through Stephanie too, wouldn't you?

It's sad because they have some solid guys that they can build a good midcard with. Bring some guys up from NXT and you could have a true renaissance. I was hoping the IC belt would regain prestige this year, but who knows.

They're missing the boat on Big E as IC champion. He has a lot to learn, but proper booking can hide his weaknesses until he develops further. He should be wrestling each week, defending that belt and mowing through people.

Officially, HHH has taken her spot in Creative while Steph is in another department now BUT unofficially I wouldnt be surprised if you still had to before finally answering to Vince.

Too True. The tombstone is a move that drops you on your head. People shouldnt be kicking out of that too much. But, it'll probably happen again this year, especially if he's fighting Lesnar.

Uh yes ... Certainly he has been solely overseeing FCW/NXT on his own for the last few years so he can take care of the Kliq. It all makes sense.

I won't dispute that Triple H has done good things for FCW/NXT, but he's been involved in questionable things over the years. I don't think his feud with Nash in 2011 was necessary at all and that feud being the ultimate end result of the Summer of Punk was just stange. His two hand picked stars from Evolution seemingly getting a WrestleMania main event spot would add to that. I mean John Cena deserves a WrestleMania 30 main event spot a hell of a lot more than Dave Batista. I honestly feel something like Cena vs Undertaker would be bigger than Batista vs pretty much anyone. One movie role doesn't make Batista bigger than the entire roster. I feel like Triple H should have let Sheamus win at WrestleMania 26 as well., because winning at Extreme Rules is not the same in my opinion.

I've come to realize that any program involving HHH nowadays sucks.

I couldn't be on Creative. I'd talk directly to Vince and not care about Triple H and Stephanie's input. They'd mock me, and I would respond by bringing up stupid storylines. I would be gone after a month. :funny:

Because barely anyone remembers the win at Extreme Rules.

Except for the feud with Taker. But just about anyone can have a good feud with Taker nowadays. And Taker verbally dug into Triple H in that feud, something the guys on the current roster aren't given the chance to. The last person who wasn't part-time to do that is coincidentally the person who walked out a few weeks ago...

I'd purposefully be kicking their doors down and butting heads with them when I hear something I dont like just so I can see how long it takes to get fired. I'd tally up the days for the hell of it but one thing is for sure...They'd have to get new office doors before I leave :funny:

I watched Tetsuya Naito vs Tomohiro Ishii tonight, they both could do with asking Sheamus and Cesaro how to throw convincing strikes, Naito in particular is horrible. The match was ok, lots of "you do a move and then I'll do a move" mixed in with no selling strike sequences, which was easy given how weak they looked. The match was nowhere near as good as Bryan vs Bray Wyatt at the Rumble.

Either that or Josh Isenberg. The biggest WWE programmed robot on the site. I swear sometimes I think Vince cuts him a check. He represents everything WWE wants their fans to be.

Chairshot Reality is hilariously awful at times, Labar tries and Goulash sees it for what it is, but Isenberg must think he's got the potential to be the next Josh Matthews type the way he rides the WWE jock strap.

I don't like how his character flip flops so much in his current role. He needs to be more heelish, and I mean blatantly heelish. When he cut that promo about the gloves coming off they should have stayed off.

According to some of WWE's PR Flacks at Wrestlezone, it's Nuanced storytelling :lmao:

Seriously the "Gloves have come off" type promos means jack and Sh__t in the long run if you revert back to flip-flopping and figurative putting the gloves back on.

So what's this I hear about Sting and Hulk Hogan signing before WrestleMania XXX. Any truth to these rumours have not watched WWF in a long long time.

Both of these guys will likely be back for guest appearances and programs on the WWE Network

I really want to see that Tokyo Dome 3D movie NJPW keeps advertising on their shows.

Hogan is almost confirmed to appear on the Raw after Elimination Chamber(2/24/14). Sting is more than likely going to debut after Mania.
