for the first time, i got my hands on the score for Ang's Hulk, i'm listening to it and i have to say, this is music, its just beautiful. Hulk's theme, it sounds like something from a horror movie, its just so effin perfect.

I'm about a month late in my response, but yeah... I loved Elfman's score for this. The middle eastern, mournful flavor some of it had really hit the bullseye for me. Seemed so perfect.

This score lacked flavor for me... a dull moment in Elfman's career really.

One of Elfmans best score's IMO, I really enjoyed the score for TIH, but Elfman's work on Hulk was almost perfect, and helped add so much emotion to some of the scene's.

I'll post a few youtube clips just so we know what we're talking about here... ;)

Ironically, my favorite piece from this score isn't really Elfman's, but a remnant from the score Mychel Danna's initially started making for the flick.

The Truth Revealed (my favorite):

I also quite liked the triumphant bit as Hulk is leaping through the desert...
Hulk's Freedom:

A Man Again:

And of course the main theme, which Sava already mentioned has sort of a horror film flavor to it. It also has the middle eastern stuff going on in shades. I don't know why, but it just feels incredibly fitting. Beautiful:

I wasn't gonna put this on here, but as I listened to it I got the chills. I guess I just forgot how much I loved this movie:

The Aftermath:

My favorite would have to be Hulk's Freedom, followed by the lake battle. There is something amazing about The Aftermath though

The score for Ang's Hulk is excellent. I've had the cd since it was released. I believe it's one of Elfman's best works.

"Set Me Free" was rubbish though.

Elfman had nothing to do with it. thats a bit of good news

Didnt realise The Truth part was done by someone else, one of my favourite musical parts of the movie, still an awesome score by Elfman though.

who was it done by?... maybe the guy before they brought in Elfman, if you can download the workprint of the movie, you'll be able to hear the score by that other guy, i forgot what his name is.

That what seems to be the case, it was an excellent piece of music. I just dont fancy listening to it without the movie to accompany it.

The main theme you hear at the beginning of the main titles during the Marvel logo is pretty much a theme from the show actually.^

In the pilot, when he was in the rain at night. Same notes.

Actually I was thinking the music that you hear when the DVD menu is up-oh, wait, that is the opening titles theme, isn't it?
That said, I like it. It has a very "Hulk" feel to it. I remember hearing an interview in which Danny said that Lee pretty much told him to make it a non-Elfman theme; not do what he usually did.

I don't know about "non-Elfman" but definitely "non-Batman". On the Hulk-DVD there's an interview with Danny Elfman where he notes that Lee rejected at least a couple of ideas because he thought it sounded too much like Danny's Batman-score.
