Unstable Musical Cues- Glass and Beltrami's Score

From the Con panel:

Next in line was Beltrami, who spoke to a queue of his Fantastic Four score without an accompanying film clip. The score, eerie and mysterious, landed it in musical territory leaning towards fantasy. Asked to describe the scene that accompanies the queue, Beltrami explained the piece as a prelude created with influential composer Philip Glass, from which the rest of the score was adapted. When asked if the new film would be darker than the previous two incarnations of the Marvel franchise, he stated bluntly, “I don’t know, I’ve never seen them,” receiving chuckles and light applause from the audience.

Also from the panel on Twitter paraphrasing:

Theme is youthful discovery
Described music as demon love-child of Elfman and Glass

Interesting description. And Glass is one of Elfman's idols. So I'm even more intrigued about what Beltrami came up with for this movie.

Yep. Orba is correct. Same tracks, different, less descriptive wording.

Probably should have gone with the less descriptive. Would have given us slightly less of an idea of what the movie's about.

Why does Amazon UK have it listed for July 31 and Amazon us August 14?

We fought a war so this wouldn't happen!

It sounds unorthodox, but definitely not in the MV/RC realm... it's interesting to hear how it'll work in the film.

So far it sounds good. I'm digging it.

Well at least the score is good. This will easily fit into my listening rotation.

Judging from the samples does either composers style cohesively blend together as one?

So I just listened to the leaked "theme song". Is that for the opening credits? I thought no one could ever top John Ottman's FF theme song and I was hoping he would score this film but this new one sounds really good as a theme for the Fantastic Four! Its eery, mysterious, very fitting for a Sci-fi film!

well the soundtrack is on itunes several days early for whatever reason and i'm downloading it now

The UK is set for today . America on the 14 unless they meant CD and not download.

I listened to this on Spotify this morning and this soundtrack was boring, man. It just felt very....generic and bland. Most of the score is very low key, and theres no notable standout theme like "Time's Up" from DOFP or Magneto's theme from First Class. Nothing grabbed my attention and got me pumped. I'll give it another listen after I see the movie, maybe hearing the score complemented with actual scenes from the movie will enhance it.

It's nothing special. It is a decent score. But I think it works with the visuals. In the first clip that was recently released, it sounded great even though it is edited.

I'm sure I'll like the score more after seeing the movie and hearing it in context with the film, I just was ...unimpressed with my first listen.

I listened to some of the tracks in Spotify (I can't listen to them all in order because I have to pay Spotify and sometimes I can't skip the tracks that aren't related to the film). I think the score sounds pretty good, I liked "Strength in Numbers" the most. However I cannot really appreciate them until I see them used in the film.

my favorites so far are neil armstrong, baxter, he's awake, pursuit and strength in numbers. another body is awesome as well. it grew on me a lot since i first heard it.
