I am glad that they are apparently returning to the original trilogy.
I Liked Scream 6.
But,I REALLY didn’t like that line from the start of the film”F$$k The Movies”.
The way the first film satirized horror movies is what drew me to the franchise.
I hope Scream 7 gets back to the genesis of the original idea.

I'd like to feel positive about these and maybe it will turn out good but everything about the movie all feels like desperate fan service and damage control. From the director to the main characters to these resurrected ones. Lilard returning has been a theory among fans in each entry of the series.

Eh, I don't know.

I'm happy for Lillard. He deserves his paycheck. He's been having a bit of a comeback, the theories have been a thing forever and it just makes too much sense for him to come back to this franchise in some capacity even if it's just a flashback/dream sequence kind of thing.

But y'all know how I feel.

Maybe is just their voices. AI has come a long way and they even used that in Scream 3 with the voice changer.

Yes, can totally see this new killer using AI to **** with Sidney. Otherwise can see Sidney having a dream/nightmare of the various killers of her past.

These announcements should have been kept secret either way.

They are either very desperate to get back the fans or they're desperate trying to be New Nightmare.

They shouldn't have killed Dewey. He was a big part. Having all three leads again would've gone a long way

6 was already leaning heavily in the direction of embracing the history of the whole franchise more than any of the other films. I feel pretty certain that 7 will probably continue leaning in the "full circle" element of it all and probably will be positioned as a culmination of sorts for the franchise, especially with Sidney taking center stage again. I kinda doubt this will be setting up Scream 8 with Sid and Gale, though you never know I guess...

But yeah to me it's not terribly surprising at all to see returning players. And to me Scream is a giant slasher soap opera.
