The sequel...

Boy, everytime someone start listing what he wants in a future X-Men movie, he lists like every X-Men character to make an appearance...

Then, when we get info on the new movie, the first complaint is too many characters crammed in :p

Nathan Jones needs to be Cyber

Oh God no.

The Wolverine sequel needs real actors. If you bring in someone like Nathan Jones, it just makes the movie feel cheap. Okay, Tyler Mane worked just fine in X1 but you get the point.

What the sequel needs, is some kind of "Batman Begins treatment". No-nonsense approach, serious actors, a serious director, well-written characters and motives, real drama, somewhat down-to-earth look and feel, emotional weight, realistic tone etc. At least it has to be coherent and it need to concentrate on central themes and characters instead of choppy editing and boring CG

Although probably we'll be getting another lazy and brainless "wham bam thank you ma'am" type of unambitious saturday morning cartoon a la Fox.

However, regarding comparisons with Batman, i cared more about Silverfox than Rachel Dawes and i cared more about Wraith than Batman. TDK was the Joker's movie.

Well the SHH front page reports that they're already planning a sequel. I'm all for it.

If Wolverine is a litlle more grouchy, animalistic in the sequel, i'll forgive that aspect that was missing in this one. They can just chalk it up to him being more like he was in X1 because he got more and more secluded due to his memory loss.

Agreed. Hopefully, we'll get a new director with better experience mixing action with drama. And if Fox finally gets the balls to stick to what a Wolverine story should be: gritty, dark, and no 200 other mutants cameos, then we'll be absolutely fine.

Now, I'm kinda ashamed to say this, but like the original Weapon X story, I haven't read Claremont and Miller's Wolverine in Japan story. Would someone like to fill me in? :woot:

Why would Cyber need an incredible actor if hes not the main bad guy? Wow. Also I cant agree with your Batman Begins treatment. Most of us were pumped about this Wolverine film because it looked as if it was going to be Wolverine's version of Batman Begins. It fell through and became another summer blockbuster. My guess is that the next film only has the potential to be the best X film yet. They missed their chance with this one.

If Fox could deliver a Wolverine sequel on par with The Incredible Hulk or Iron Man quality and Omega Red as a villain...i'd be very very very satisfied!

And I also hope Stryker is not in the next movie. He is such a bland and obnoxious character IMO.

Well that would cause a continuity error as Logan has now lost his memory, so he can't come across Stryker again until X2 which is why i'm all for a Wolverine movie set AFTER X3. Set it 50-100 years after X3. Where the sentinels are actively hunting and inprisoning mutants. That way we could also bring back Liev as Creed and not have another continuity flaw like we would get if he was bought bak in a Wolverine sequel set right after Wolverine 1.

Bring in the time traveller 'Cable'.

Maybe have some of it set in the future and some in the past.

as interesting an idea that is, i'll pass. plus, there's no way to bring cable in, since both his parents died b4 he could be born.
