I expect the odds of this to be low, but, if they're introducing Storm for the first time (and it seems some kind of Egyptian connection with Apocalypse), I'd love for Xavier to confront the Shadow King as Amahl Farouk. It would be a good way to touch on Storm's past. It doesn't have to take up a lot of the movie, but it would add an early scene of tension (and Xavier stardom) before we move on to the main plot.

Anyone else think this might be an ok idea (OK, I don't really have any pretenses that it's a great idea ;) )?

We picked up on it earlier. It would be nice as a easter egg or intro point. I do see sinister probablybeing more involved tho

Sinister (while weird) probably could do well as a villain for his own movie,

Where'd you guys talk about Shadow King before?

i dont know about Shadow King but I want to see the horsemen, Sinister, Marauders and Omega Red first.

Farouk should care of Apocalypse's temple in Egypt.

All in one movie? That seems a little crowded. The Shadow King at least seems small enough potatoes that you can use him without having to devote a movie to him. I'm sure the Horsemen will be in this movie.

My point is, if we're meeting Storm for the first time, they can show her origin story (since it'll probably be the only opportunity to do so).

Just to clarify, I don't think the Shadow King should get his own movie. I don't think he's important enough for that.

If Stryker can gET his own movie so can shadow king. In fact I'd rather see a shadow king movie before an omega red movie. The whole storm angle makes it deliciously personal plus his power set an d intelligence are more of a challenge to the xmen.

The only real advantage of Omega Red is they can use him while the stories are still set in the past. Once the Cold War ends, it's a bit more difficult.

its all comes down to the screenwriter. Omega Red could be the lead villain or a henchman even if the film is set in the present period.

I'd like to see Shadow King and Sinister have cameos in Storm and Cyclops' intro scenes but nothing more. Shadow King would just be a random crime boss with psychic powers in Africa while Sinister would be shape shifted into another form and work at Cyclops' orphanage where Xavier adopts him.

I feel like Apocalypse and his Horsemen are enough for one film and I'd rather just tease these two. IMO, the two together should get less than 5 minutes of screen time. I'd have Sinister be the bad guy who the films build up to slowly and tie him in to the origins of Magneto, Cyclops, Gambit and Wolverine. Shadow King would just be a cameo who everyone should forget about by the time we see him again which would be a long, long way away.

Here's how I'd handle Sinister. In Apocalypse he gets a small role in another form during the first act. He then reappears after the credits in the Alkelai Lake Weapon X facility alongside Sabretooth.

I'd then name drop him in X-Force but have Genesis/Tolliver and the Dark Riders as the main villains and Stryfe as the larger threat in the background. I'd base the film around X-Force Vol 1 1-15 and Cable Vol 1 17-19.

Then come the next X-Men film, it would be all about Stryfe and Cyclops as an adaptation of X-Cutioner's Song. Sinister would have a small role to play but he'd just be in the background observing things aside from making a deal with Stryfe at the beginning of the film and begin the mysterious figure who saves Cyclops' life.

I'd use him as a villain in X-Force 2 which I'd have be the adaptation of New X-Men 142-145. I'd also have Malcolm Colcord and john sublime appear and both die with Sinister left in control of Weapon X with no rivals.

Finally, I'd do a medley of Inferno, Mutant Massacre and Messiah Complex where Sinister's plans come to fruition and we see just how big of a threat he is.

That's an excellent write up. Thank you for sharing.
I don't disagree with any of that.

But there are a couple points. I have to make.

Executioner's song is excellent comic but I don't think the story translates well to film without many edits.

Since We Are not Getting AN Age of Apocalypse movie, how do play the apocalypse angle where we pull Apocalypse from the past from?

Also I'm not a fan of executioners song how Apocalypse jeeps getting his butt kicked. He's the XmenS ultimage villain with a ridiculous powerset I guess only Stryfe or like the Phoenix can handle.

It would be interesting if maybe Sinister at first pulls Cable from an AOA dimension but he is unable to mind wipe him so he clones him and then gives Stryfe all the lies of abandonment and bad parenting.

Lol and no big gun cable that's so dated and lame.

The Shadow King seems like something that could be combined with another concept, or worked into another major storyline. Onslaught, perhaps.

Just not Onslaught, I have enough of Magneto-Xavier stories.

i always imagine Onslaught as the last big villain like if the series is finally gonna end. But as of right now, they should concentrate on Apocalypse.

The thing about Shadow King is he just doesnt seem like a lead villain material for a film. Maybe if Storm gets a solo film, he would be a good choice as the lead villain but a team film? I dont think so.

Eh. Don't agree.
If Stryker can be the main villian shadow king easily can. We're talkn bout a psychic who has no physical form and can possess bodies. Plus he's in another geographical location. Maybe not a full team movie but if ur talkin X force or a wolverine spinoff I'm seeing it
If fact a take on shadow king would be more fresh then even a sinister movie. It will be like the first xmen film where wouldnt be mutant experimentation lol

Shoot to ante it up a bit
After apocalypse they can do a shadow king movie for his revenge on professor (who thwarted his goals by rescuing Storm. So in the next film he kindaps Legion and used him to try and take on the Xmen or something to that affect
