Whoa, the movie became the all time best opening day here in Argentina!

More absurd out there jokes so it would have been even with all the political jokes/comments they had.

this isn't family guy

I didn't like how it mainly focused on the Simpson family I think more of the townsfolk/background characters should have been used or used better. (hope you guys understand what I mean)

You should take another look at the title. Besides, when it all comes down to it, the show is about the workings of the family, not the background characters.

And finally ..yes ALOT more background/other characters should have been used. Barely any Moe, Ralph,Skinner/Agnes/Krabbapple/Chalmers, Millhouse/Kirk/Luanne,absolutly no Gill and the only Willy was Barts!!!

you're making a third point when it's clearly a "2-b" quote.

when they were in the liquor store and marge want's ladys razor blades and beef jerkey then she says no don't look there then bart draws on theeir faces on the wanted poster then the simpsons lookalikes are right there and they get arrested, made me laugh

This rivals Hot Fuzz as the funniest movie of the year, it's as funny as the Simpsons have ever been. Loaded with great socially conscious humor and physical humor.

Yes I know this isn't family guy..(family guy's "absurd" jokes and really ALL theyre jokes, are nothing more than ripoffs of other shows or pop culture.no real writing like you see on the simpsons)

By absurd I meant things like Homer wanting to kiss the pig, Bart doodliling on the wanted poster and the family being there, comic book guy with the preganancy pants etc...usually the show has an even amount of topical satire and "out there" humor the movie just fealt a bit preachy to me.

And yes I know it's called the simpsons but they aren't the only people who live in Springfield. I'm not saying the movie was bad I enjoyed the hell out of it but I, like everyother person it seems, wished they had used the townsfolk more.

I mean seriously...everyone was waiting for Gill to show up during the credits, which would have been funny as hell lol.

They're parodies of pop culture and other shows, and damn good ones. Their eps on the tobacco industry and the idiocy of the American people these days are excellent writing.

I liked it. I liked it alot. But I guess theres a compromise that was made for the movie....it felt very reminiscent of the earliest seasons of the show, like seasons 1-5, in that it had an emotional resonance to it and wasnt complete random madness. So, for me, that meant for a movie that wasnt full of the belly laughs that id associate with some of my favourite episodes, but something totally unexpected. I n many ways, the movie reminded me why I liked the simpsons in the first place. The movie needed more Mr Burns though (I still think he should have somehow instigated the whole thing) and Apu was largely missed...but, other than that...really good movie...just as epic as youd always thought a simpsons movie would be. I really hope they make a sequel (although its pretty unlikely)

I haven't seen the newest Simpsons in awhile. But the movie was alot more cartoony than the old shows used to be. Things like them being saved by Bart's slingshot and Homer being smashed by the wrecking ball. It's not a bad thing, it just seemed to have more elements of Looney Toons then The Simpsons usually do.

Pretty funny. I enjoyed it immensely, though I was in the same boat as another poster on here who said he was the only one out of a few that enjoyed the witt barbs and dialogue. Everyone else seemed to only laugh at the slapstick and gross out humor, which somewhat disappointed me.

High points were Lisa constantly thinking Bono was Colin's dad, the Fox ticker at the bottom of the screen, the opening Itchy and Scratchy cartoon, and Comic Book Guy's discussion with Marge. And yes, as soon as Spider-Pig came up, everyone in the damn theatre started singing it.

How did the movie cost so much to make? 70 million is a bit much for the budget. The animation looked like a futurama episode.

Well, I thought the animation was top notch, but I think the budget probably went to the voice actors, I'm sure they got a huge payday for the film.

plus the constant toying with the script, which in turn has the voice actors and animators constantly reworking things.

really adds up.

Just got back from the movie. Loved it. My favorite bits...

1.) Ralph Wiggum. "I like men now."

2.) Comic Book Guy's conversation with Marge at her table.

3.) Martin giving the bullies their comeuppance.

4.) An Irritating Truth.

i gave the movie a 9. it was great, funny, good action sequence which keep you on the edge and/or laughing. it little drama which i liked. the reason i gave it a nine and not a ten is because i believe the town could have been used more.

i was expecting Mad Max or Escape from New York type of stuff when Moe came out
from the underground

Second word to the audience...first word to the Simpsons.

If you think about it...Marge was right in saying it was Maggie's 'first word' because if you recall...NO ONE actually heard when Maggie said 'Daddy' in that classic episode as she was in her room, in her crib all by herself.

So 'technically' from Marge's point of view, she's right. :cwink:
Their ignorance doesn't mean it was her first word. It's called dramatic irony: we know it was her second word and they don't.

For you to say it was her first word, being part of the audience especially, would make you wrong.

i couldnt believe it. i thought this was going to be a little stupid nonsense "i want ur money" movie.
but i loved it. fantastic humor

I knew ralph was gay.
lol

moe the emperor! I forgot about that. Yeah, they should have just turned the whole movie into escape from springfield, that would have ruled.

Saw it twice I loved it...I also noticed the medical van still "parked" under the tree at Springfield Gorge.
