Arrow The Slade Wilson/Deathstroke Thread!

That Deathstroke fan-film is out!

Fan-fricking-tastic

While Arrow's DS suit is growing on me, it is so clunky looking - I actually like this suit better, especially the helmet. It is sleek.

Great video

Yeah that fan-film was pretty nice. He almost felt like a robot, similar to Cyrax and Sektor from the Mortal Kombat web-series.

Yeah he said he went to the hospital once a week while on Spartacus. haha

Yeah I'm not sure how that works out for Amell, might have something do to with age.

Eliza said that "Joss and James are both Geniuses and that is the politically correct answer because I would like to work in hollywood still" she was just great and then retweeted me later!

Two pics from today. I went to the booth and he took all the time in the world with me, he remeber me from the panel the previous day, we spoke for 25 minutes (no lie) about Maori warriors and New Zealand culture along with his tribe. The man is just incredibly charasmatic and you can tell he truly loves the fans, i'm offically a fanboy for him now.

I read that pic in his voice. :woot:

I do every single time I look at it, I like to think he is talking to me about all of the hurdles in life to come. He inspires me.

He did an awesome job in spartacus and has done so far everywhere he has been as of late.... Deathstroke is great with him and he brings high quality acting to Arrow.

The res of the images from the Arrow Thread. I really wish they would have kept the mask smooth in front, but they probably had to make room for his nose. As a result, the mask looks wider than it actually is.

wow.. sure as hell doesnt look like that on the show

Anyone seen the new clip from Man Under The Hood? It's the Quiver fight sequence, and I deny you to say the new suit doesn't look considerably more powerful with the thicker, Bennett-inspired frame, and that whole point of why he wears armor? The clip shows him not even reacting to Diggle shooting him with most of a nine-millimeter's clip. And this scene convinces me that whatever secret scheme they've got for Slade's eventual defeat must be pretty badass. I'm still calling Solomon Grundy.

Also, can anybody identify the new pistol the character carries? It looks vaguely like a Coonan pistol, but it's probably some kind of hi-tech nine, right?

Slade waiting in the Arrow liar and the fight that ensues was off the frisking hook!

Again, Deathstroke for villain of the year. He owned everybody. "Remember who taught you how to fight, kid."

Agreed…

I also liked his delivery of the line "You're wasting your bullets" after Diggle unloaded an entire clip into his chest.

The fight in the quiver was spectacular. From the narrative perspective, there was a wonderful buildup to it; from the choreography perspective, the fight between DS and the three of Team Arrow was awesome.

Agreed, it did a fantastic job of making Deathstroke look even more unstoppable, one of the shows best action sequences to date.

Oh man, that delivery was great. Slade is just awesome.

Damn I was kind of giving up on Arrow after season 1. Was good but much preferred the flashback scenes especially with Wilson being a better character than the main lead guy.

Deathstroke looks like a freakin bad-*** now, looks like I've got some catching up to do and pronto!!

Ok, can we please get a Slade vs. Merlyn fight, pretty please? Two badass villains duking it out, that'd be so coo to see.

I think the show has shot itself in the foot with Slade/Deathstroke.

There is no way they are going to be able to have a villain anywhere near as good as Slade seeing as how the entire events of season 1, into season 2, have been setting him up and given us so much back story leading to his character's fall, the only way they can give us another villain with this much depth is if they make one of the already established show regulars a villain….

Im sure they'll go for a different class of a villain. If they go with R'as im sure he'll be different from Slade and they don't have to have the next villain be
"more destructive" just simply interesting in their own right.

Now that you said it, this could be true. But what about the other possible villains? I am sure Green Arrow has a big rogues gallery. I am always curious would it work if the show brought some villains outside of Green Arrow's rogues gallery. Would be interesting.

Ra's is still out there. He could be a future big bad if/when he physically appears. Maxwell Lord could be an interesting "puppetmaster" villain to use as well.

True, but no other villain will have as much back story and set up like Slade/Deathstroke..unless, as i stated, they turn one of the show regulars i.e Diggle, Felicity, Thea, Moira, or whomever into villain.

The lead up to Deathstroke has been brilliantly done. He just didn't show up, like any other villain from now on will now seem to do. We know him. We like him, and we gradually witnessed his fall and understand why he's doing what he's doing. I find myself rooting for him and pray that he never leaves the show!

Even with a different style of villain than DS for future seasons, there's no way they can give us such a rich backstory as they've done with Slade.

I keep thinking they'll make Slade a recurring character and semi-antagonist after this season finale, give Malcolm back some of his hate-worthy swagger back as the perpetual but periodical in appearances arch-nemesis, and make it clear that a bad-guy like Brother Blood can be a season long threat without necessarily dominating screen time and stealing scenes as Deathstroke and the Dark Archer have done.

I'm still thinking Slade will find himself looking up in shock at Solomon Grundy at some point. We know Malcolm's coming back. Maybe Malcolm and Blood unite as one villainous alliance against Oliver and Deathstroke?

if they kill off slade... i most likely wont keep watching this show lol

There is no chance in hell they 're going to kill off DS, who has grown into one of the more popular characters in their library. Seriously...look up all of the non comics appearances of DS. He's big.

Agreed, his emergence and growth in popularity has been quite sudden and unexpected, he is fast turning into one of DC's bigger villian characters. Not Joker levels but he seems to be in most DC related things now, Arrow tv show, Batman Arkham games (hell you can even play as him), prominent in cartoons.

Whether we get him in film version might be a way off yet with Batman/Superman still a way off yet but Slade's stock is certainly on the rise.
