Drama The Social Network 2

I mean there is an interesting new chapter to tell. I’ve seen worst ideas for a sequel.

Really? A sequel? What would this be about now? The most recent things where Zuckerberg has had to appear in court regarding privacy and other stuff?

I guess it wouldn't have people like Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake or Armie Hammer in it though?

And having seen much of more Zuckerberg in real life since the movie was made, and also more of Jesse Eisenberg, Einsenberg wasn't really playing Zuckerberg back then. He was playing himself. I wasn't able to tell at the time because I hadn't seen enough of his films, but he plays every role the same. Is there really much difference between his Lex Luthor and his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg?

It wouldn't even seem out of place for his version of Zuckerberg to say "the red capes are coming! the red capes are coming!"

I mean the framing device of the first movie was him defending how he came up with FB in a legal setting. If anything, what FB has become in terms of aggregating racism, helping foreign agents, etc, it does make it interesting in the right hands. I'd only watch if Fincher came back to direct as well.

I think it was intentional that Luthor was similar to his Zuckerberg. I think that is exactly what Snyder wanted.

The article I read indicates that Sorkin said there SHOULD be a sequel.
There is no deal in place yet.

Yes, nor set in stone. It's just being bandied around.

Hmm... I never thought about a sequel to the first one since I never thought another film could have the same type of energy as the first.

This actually wouldn't be a terrible idea.

Why on earth would Snyder want that? What was he smoking? On the big screen we never seem to get a formidable and calculating Luthor. He's always a buffoon and that's probably what the general audience think of him as.

Because it is clearly what he wanted. He directed that performance. If he didn't want that out of him, then he would have not allowed him to give that performance. He cared him in that rule definitely for a reasonand he got what he wanted

Eisenberg is not a bad actor and he could have played Luthor more like he played Zuckerberg, which frankly would have been the superior option. But that's not what Snyder wanted.

I thought we were getting that, and that it might have been interesting.

The Social Network is in my top 5 of favorite films. Thread title had me scratch my head a little bit, but the concept could be really cool with a Sorkin script. If both him and Fincher were to return, then I would totally be onboard.

I'd be on board with this if it were Sorkin and Fincher as well. Eisenberg was wonderful in this role.

Social network is one of the most memorable and superb films I’ve seen over the years. It just has this incredible repeat viewing value.

I really do hope that if this pans out then Sorkin and Fincher must come back. That is the only way this would work

Are there any other twins that they could bring in this time round? Maybe have some other actor playing double roles.

Social Network 2: Invasion....of Privacy.

The year is 2012.

Mark Zuckerberg, heroic young CEO has survived the tests of FB's creation and now runs the most sisuccessful social media platform in human history. He is preparing to take FB public when he is confronted by a grizzled nerd, claiming to be his future self and who has travelled back in time to warn him about the Cambridge Analytica data harvesting scandal of 2018.

Cue explosions, gratuitous use of mini-guns and emojis....

Oh, Sorry. I thought someone said the sequel will be written and directed by James Cameron.

I'd definitely be down for this in light of recent events. My gripe with the original film was always that it was made too early, even though it's a good film.

Are they going to call it the Social Network 2 or maybe slightly alter the title? Maybe the Privacy Network? Or the Social Privacy.
