I guess social awkwardness is different between cultures. Because I consider myself socially awkward, but I don't do anything of those.

The "okay class, find a partner" one is definitely me. Mostly cause I hate working with people I don't know. For the first few minutes I'm always trying to gauge if this person is going to screw me over and be lazy or be overbearing and demanding.
