The Starving Games

How do Seltzer and Friedberg still get their movies released in theaters? Even Uwe Boll's movies don't come out in theaters anymore.

So which no talent Reality show hacks will appear in this film?

This thread really didn't need to be bumped...

Oh dear......

One positive thing we can all be happy about. They're equipment is clearly lower-budget than their past movies aka they're making less money with their 'work' aka soon they'll be out of money to even make spoof movies that will be reported on.

Those knockoff movies like Transmorphers are more entertaining.

America, please stop seeing these movies!!! Please!

I better not see this trailer with Man Of Steel

I want my two minutes and twenty one seconds back.

So, I laughed only at how much the guy looked like Bruce Willis and the other guy sounded like Sam Jackson.

When they showed the Avengers, I think they played the actual theme from the movie in the trailer. SUE, MARVEL, SUE!!!!!!!!

These guys somehow managed to make my dream, of The Expendables shooting Psy into a nightmare.

‘Hunger Games’ Spoof ‘The Starving Games’ Sets November Release Ahead Of ‘Catching Fire’

By JEN YAMATO | Friday July 26, 2013
EXCLUSIVE: Spoofmeisters Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (Scary Movie, Epic Movie, Date Movie) will be back with more pop culture parodying this fall, thanks to Ketchup Entertainment. The financing firm and newbie distributors have acquired Hunger Games satire The Starving Games for a November 8 theatrical release. Timing puts the Friedberg/Seltzer comedy in theaters just ahead of Lionsgate‘s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire which debuts November 22. Maiara Walsh (Desperate Housewives, Switched at Birth), Cody Christian (Pretty Little Liars), Lauren Bowles (True Blood), Brant Daugherty (Pretty Little Liars), and Diedrich Bader (Napoleon Dynamite) star in the pic which is written and directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. The Safran Company financed and produced The Starving Games, which follows a young girl named Kantmiss as she participates in a barbaric annual competition against fellow youngsters. http://www.deadline.com/2013/07/hun...-games-november-releas/ketchup-entertainment/As with all Friedberg & Seltzer parodies, the pic will also take aim at other pop culture phenomenons including The Avengers, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter, Psy, and Taylor Swift. Ketchup Entertainment’s Gareth West and Head of Acquisitions Stephen Stanley negotiated the deal with UTA’s Rena Ronson. K5 reps international rights. Meanwhile, Friedberg and Seltzer are also working on a Fast & Furious spoof entitled Superfast!

My response to any and all news regarding this film, and most especially, the film itself:

I finally managed to get away from these guys with the terrible "Date Movie", but it amazes me just how these keep getting made. Man, I miss the days of Airplane and the Naked Gun, when parodies were limited, done well, and not milked for every joke they can possibly squeeze from the concept.

It needs repeating.

I made the mistake of seeing both Date Movie (it had Alyson Hannigan, how bad could it be?) & Epic Movie :doh::doh:. I won't be making those mistakes again.

I thought Scary Movie was a good parody. But the sequels not so much and virtually no parody has since been worth it.

They're actually trying to compete with Catching Fire? These tallentless hacks who DON'T KNOW COMEDY IF IT BIT THEM IN THE ASS!?!?

I've been holding this in for a VERY long time now, but this....THIS IS CROSSING THE LINE!! To reference Wrath of Khan:

SELTZERBERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't really think they're trying to compete with Hunger Games.

They are trying to feed off the crumbs left behind though which is always how these low-brow parodies operate.

Now if it were Mel Brooks or someone knows how to write parody, I'd reserve tickets ahead of release.
