Dude go out & get the 4 the book before you finish the 3rd...Seriously.

I already have them all. I bought the first one by itself, when I got to the middle of it I bought the next three, then went online and bought the final three, I'm good

Thanks for the advice though :P

But yeah, how is DUMA KEY? Every bookstore I go to has it on clearance for 5 dollars, I'm thinking about picking it up next time I go.

Even Borders? Do they have Duma Key on sale for 5?

Also where is a good place online to buy books. Besides Amazon?

Border's is like 10 for the bargain, I believe. B&N, and BaM both have them for around 5.99

I think DEEPDISCOUNT.COM might have some deals on books.

This is one big ass bear.

Is the reason Roland has two sets of memories of Jake because he subsequently saved his life after they first met, creating a time paradox?

I figured the minute that he
caused Mort to jump in front of that train, he created the paradox.

I figured it as well.

DO they explicitly say that's what is going on? I'm surprised Roland didn't figure it out instantly.

Is Duma Key any good?

I loved Duma Key myself. It does start a tad slow but then before long, you can't put the darn thing down. I do think King must watch Heroes --- read the book and you'll know why I say this. :p More than worth the five bucks. :D

Yes. a large part of the wastelands is focused on Rolands delimma.

OMG! I am watching the first season of True Blood & My god the dude that plays Bill would be a perfect Roland.:wow:

The Fire Wire: reports...

The new Stephen King novella entitled Mortality is featured in the July 2009 issue of Esquire magazine. The magazine should be on newsstands this week and features the Israeli model, Bar Refaeli on the cover with a temporary tattoo of the story covering her body. A scan of the cover is below…happy reading!

So I bought this yesterday and the story wasn't bad. My only complaint is that it was awful short. I don't how long I expected it to be, seeing as how it was in a magazine and all, but I was left wanting more. :( I love his stuff so much.

How long was it? a few pages?

Yeah, 5 or 6 pages. That's it. :(

Has anyone ever read a line in one of Stephen's books that made you do a doubletake? Here's mine: I was reading The Dark Tower V: Wolves of the Calla for the first time. It was really late, and I got to one of Tian's lines: "I plow my sister." Lol, woke me up and made me go WTF. It was like 3 or 4 in the morning, but I couldn't put it down!

King wins two Bram Stroker Awards
Posted: June 15, 2009, 00:13:06

Stephen King won two Bram Stoker Awards for the 2008 publishing year at the Horror Writers Association's Stoker Awards Banquet held in Burbank, California on Saturday. Just After Sunset won Superior Achievement in a Collection; and Duma Key won Superior Achievement in a Novel. Mick Garris accepted the Awards for King and read King's acceptances, which were notable for his praise of Guests of Honor Richard Matheson and Richard Christian Matheson.

Good for him. I liked both those books. :)

So is your journey with Roland going?

It's going, I got busy the past week or so and didn't have much time for DT3, I finally finished it Saturday and started DT4 today, I'm on page 43 now, I like Blaine.

I also enjoyed the reference to Trashcan Man.. even though I hate Trashcan Man

So... I'm about 100 pages in to Wizard and Glass

Do they explain how they all survive in Stand Land??? I mean.. odds are at least one of them should die from Captain Trips, right? or are they not susceptible because they are from another world???

It's been awhile since I read it and I never read the Stand but

I don't remember them coming into contact with anyone while they were there and just seems like they were never in danger of getting it. Of course, it could just be that they are special and from another world like you said.

Never read The Stand?! You should...
The fact that they never came in contact with anyone doesn't make much sense... if you had read The Stand I guess you would know why...

Pretty much.

So the disease is just blanketing the world? Cause then that probably means they're just special.

They don't explain it, but I just assume that the were some of ones the were "chosen" to live.

I was hoping for a more in depth explanation considering King explains EVERYTHING.
