Almost every single King novel that has been adapted has a different ending. King doesn't like the happy endings.

- Just bought Duma Key. What did you all think of it.
I liked Duma Key a lot. You can tell King watches Heroes. :D

Heh. :oldrazz:

Solid book. I remember being enraptured throughout. Those 650+ pages practically turned themselves. 'Twas the first book that ever seriously creeped me out.

I got the entire Dark Tower series for Christmas. Bout halfway through The Gunslinger right now and all I can say is this stuff is mesmerising! Cant wait till I get enough time to sit and really get into em but as of right now Ive just been reading sparingly.

finished under the dome on saturday. I must say I liked it far more than I thought I would. it was a very solid (and very long) book. it really worked on an allegorical level. it was paced fairly well but sometimes seemed uneven on that front. thats all i'll say on it for now.

I started reading The Dark Tower series not too long ago. I'm on the third book. The story just seems to keep getting better as you progress. How far along are you in The Gunslinger?

Two books done

I got an email from arielracing who asked if there are any new book planned/scheduled for publication in 2010 by King on his official board. And even though the moderator couldn’t go into details she said there where and also that King had already finished two new books!

For those interested, Marvel has begun soliciting a comic book version of that N video that was released online a short while back. Issue #1 will be coming out in March.

I kinda wish they'd do more new material instead of just adapting his stories and novels into comics.

^^ I pre-ordered that. :D Hope it's good.

I just finished reading It for the first time. LOVED it!

I can't say as I've ever read anything of his that I hated. :p

I've never been able to get through The Shining. It seems like it takes them forever to get to the hotel.

I also thought The Tommyknockers was a dreadful bore, but I did finish it because I had a broken leg at the time and had nothing else to do. It was a struggle though.

You could've always written a novel, though god knows what would've happened to you if it wasn't any good.

Full Dark, No Stars next

Today it was announced that King's next book will be a collection of 4 previously unpublished novellas. The title is Full Dark, No Stars. Here is what's posted on King's board:

I have been given permission to announce that Steve's next book titled FULL DARK, NO STARS, is a collection of 4 previously unpublished novellas and is expected to be released in November (possibly 9th, but that is subject to change). We will announce more details as they become available

Sounds it will be something similar to Different Seasons and Four Past Midnight

So I'm reading The Dark Tower: Wizard and Glass, but it's recently come to my attention that [blackout]the world the main characters have stepped into is the setting for[/blackout] The Stand. Before I continue, how important is it that I read The Stand before Wizard and Glass? Or can I just get back to The Stand (along with 12,000 other King novels I've yet to read) after I've finished Dark Tower?

Its not essential, nor does Wizard and Glass give anything relevant to the plot of The Stand. I would recommend reading Salem's Lot before going on to Wolves of the Calla though.

Thanks. I'll make sure to read Salem's Lot after I finish Wizard.

Are there any other books that connect to the Dark Tower series?

Black House and the first story in Hearts in Atlantas--Low Men in Yellow Coats--as well as Insomnia are the most direct ties. Definitley read Insomnia before the last Dark Tower novel. IT is more or less related, but not to the extent of what I've listed at the beginning of my post.
