I have Duma Key but I haven't read it yet. I'm working my way through his older stuff first. I'm on Firestarter at the moment.

I'm still on Wolves of the Calla, and cant find myself getting through it, anyone else have this problem?

I somewhat did; I still read through it pretty quickly. My problem was that I felt the Callas were too decent a place for Mid-World, let alone a borderland to a place called End-World. Lud is forever ingrained in my memory as a definitive picture of Mid-World.

It just starts off very slowly IMO, and unlike Wizard and Glass, I'm not eager to keep turning pages. Im just gonna have to buckle down one day and get through a few hundred pages.

The Callas remind me of that small town just a few miles wheels outside of Lud, except they have people under the age of 70.

I was reading about the plot of this story a few weeks back. This sounds like it's going to be an awesome book. I will definitely be buying this bad boy when it comes out...plus my girlfriend is a Stephen King nut and I'll have it anyway!

Under the Weather: New King story

If you look close on the paperback cover for Full Dark, No Stars you will notice this "Includes the new story Under the Weather". I contacted the UK publisher Hodder & Stoughton and they confirmed that this story will be in the UK paperback edition as well and that it is a new short story and not just an excerpt from the upcoming 11/22/63.

Length of Under the Weather

Under the Weather is approximately 6,000 words, 23 manuscript pages and 16 pages in the final paperback.

I really hope they fix the ending in the movies cause it pretty much ruined the Dark Tower books for me and i enjoyed all of them

After already having it spoiled I have to say that I find the ending to be something I would enjoy and be like "yikes, really?" at the same time.


I am about to read the uncut version of The Stand for the first time, but currently watching the 2004 version of Salem's Lot while doing homework.

I finished the revisited/uncut edition of The Stand a couple of days ago, it's a great book to say the least.

Same here. Only about a quarter of the way through though.

The artist that will illustrate The Wind Through the Keyhole has been announced. Here is what the moderator of King's official board said:

Jae Lee has signed on to illustrate Stephen's next Dark Tower book, The Wind Through the Keyhole, which will be published as a limited edition by Donald M. Grant Publisher. I disagree. About "Under the Dome", The Stand is pretty good. I liked most of Dome but the ending felt rushed, like he looked at his page count and thought 'yikes! 1000 pages, I better end this somehow.'

For me it's 'The Stand' and 'Eyes of the Dragon.' I wish he'd do more fantasy.
