Iron Man The Suit!!!!! [Mark III-Red and Gold Awesomeness]

I've noticed some people have expressed concern saying "Well it looks good but let's see how it moves" and "I hope it doesn't move like Robocop."

The thing is, it shouldn't move like a normal person either, that wouldn't make sense.
The suit should be somewhat restrictive because it is a suit of armor.
I think it should be a nice balance between sharp robotic movement and normal human movement.

I agree with you here... Robocop's movements were perfect for that movie and that character, but are way too clunky for what Iron Man needs to be.... a high-tech war machine. Having said that, Downey and the team will need to come up with a unique style of movement for IM that the suit will allow. To sell this film, the audience needs to be able to 'feel' what's it like to be in that suit.

From what I've seen and heard, it looks like they're going to pull it off. In the span of a year, I've gone from complete skeptic to super excited.... I can't give a bigger endorsement than that.

Wowzers! What an outstanding suit!

The real suit looks like they had to sacrifice a bit of esthetics for functional design. Still looks frickin' sweet!

Rivals Robocop for coolest armoured suit design.

I don't think it sacrificed the aesthetics at all. I think it looks even better than the comic version! I'm glad it looks more military and not bright red and gold like a sports car.

the only reason I didnt vote it perfect is because i havent seen it in action nore have i seen downy in it.

For comparisons sake.

I thought we weren't allowed to post the bottom picture due to legal actions and the studio's demanding it be taken down?

At this point, I severely doubt the legal ramifications of that picture. It's like the leaked Venom footage- once it's been officially released, I doubt the studio is going to pursue anyone. Anyways, I think it's safe to say that (while good) the concept art is far surpassed by the real thing.

i want to vote perfect, but being in a design major i have been taught that nothing is ever perfect...

The suit is godly, better than I could have dreamed of. There is a fanboyish part of me, no matter how I try to fight it, who would like to see a manip of the suit with a shade of red between the bright red of the concept and the crimson of the movie. If someone would indulge me, I would be appreciative.

God, I can't wait for the hi-res photo.

All I gotta say is that this has made my day, i mean it looks so awesome its unreal. I cannot wait for this film.:woot:

Just a few minutes of Photoshop color adjustments...I prefer the warmer slightly brighter red myself...

I'm torn over which is the better color scheme. The mood of the film will determine that.

i voted Absolutely perfect,it's the best Iron Man armour ever IMO

A little fun with a rank amateur at Photoshop...

Fabulous. Just like somethig that leaped out of the page to real life. It's not the Iron Man I grew up with (the Don Heck version), but it's good enough. Modern, realistic, hi-tech, heroic-looking and pretty.

Just a question: this pic is the CGI version or the practical suit? The low res makes it hard to tell.

So much for the myth that fanboys can never be pleased.

Maybe you just have to do a good job and respect the source material?

Freckin' awesome armor, I have to say Stan Winston as out done himself. The Mark 3 is perfect.

mark 1 the grey suit and now mark 3 the final one. Could mark 2 be war machine prototype?

No hi-res shot yet?

Not yet. But you can enjoy a digitally enlarged version. Of course, details will be bound to suck.

BTW, has anyone checked the MySpace Iron Man page? Maybe they have a better quality image there.
