Sadly diminished since Peachwoman gave him the banana split.

I dread to ask what his superpowers are.

If you catch my meaning.

Oh Wolfie.

Abilities:

Super strength (smashing through steel, fighting, etc.) "the muscles of twenty men, and the brains of twenty mussels",
Flight
Invulnerability
Breathing in space
Helium-boosted heat finger
Intense stupidity
Also equipped with gadgets: Thermal Banana, Banana Laser Gun, electronic thermal underwear.

Anybody that's seen the Batgirl and Joker cover variant know why it's causing some controversy?

Really you don't know why? They're using a variant cover for Batgirl for a story that has nothing to do with TKJ. Which is controversial as it is anyway.

But how can Adam West be "before Batman"?

Real talk!

After Batman Spider-Man should be the Andrew Garfield first movie poster.

Well, it isn't particularly pleasant, but that goes for much of "teh grimdark" DCU these days.

Here is a handy essay to deploy against those who are demeaning of nerd pop culture.

You're right, it isn't pleasant but as I believe you're saying, it's nothing we've never seen before from DC comics so I was surprised at the outcry.

The Killing Joke is Joker's most iconic story and considering June's his month (75th anniversary), it's simply a homage to that story and shows that the Joker is such a monster. Sure, they could have gone with a wacky cover like the others, and have Barbara take a cellphone photo of the Joker getting arrested, but in my opinion that cover is more than "Barbara is a crime victim."

If Red Hood and the Outlaws got a variant cover and showed a Joker with a crowbar over a bloodied Jason Todd, nobody would have complained...

But they didn't that the whole point.

Alan Moore ended up hating this story at the end as well. That cover has nothing to do with Batgirl #41 anyway. I mean forget Joker shot her which left her crippled for life, stripped her naked and took photo's and possibly sexually assaulted her. It's all about the Joker.

Catwoman/Selina Kyle is also 75 where's her celebration?

It was also the same with Superman's 75 they barely acknowledged Lois Lane was 75 as well . You know the character Jerry Siegel created at the same time as Superman/Clark Kent and debuted in Action Comics #1 as well.

My Gawd, that was a great read! Thanks for that. Regarding what some comic book stories had to go through back then, we've come a long way. And I thought people overreacted now. And I especially loved the last paragraph of the Myth and Pop Culture subject in the essay. Very true.

Who knows about Catwoman. Maybe she'll get her month variants later this year. Flash got his in January and we'll see if WW will get hers next year (probably so with her movie coming)... Also, no Dick Grayson variants so far. :csad:

I will refrain myself from making a certain comment about this.

And I already envisioned this conversation in my head:

"Hey, dad! What are Bananaman's superpowers?"

"Well son, he basically just flies around with a massive *****. Pretty much like your uncle Steve. They initially wanted to call him "The Flash", but it was already taken."

You've never seen Bananaman? :funny:

If anyone is interested in reading a DC fanfic about magic, a bit of mythology and in a DCCU world setting.

Charmcaster: Origins has been a passion story of mine, since the DC movie slate was revealed.

Me being a superhero fan and a creative writer. I created an original character named Raven Joyner, who will become the hero Charmcaster.

I don't want to spoil much, but it's pretty much a transformation and a redemption story of how someone so jaded and ignorant can change to be a more compassionate person.
