I had to tell my 66 year old Dad what 50 shades was about yesterday. This was our convo:

Dad: did you see that 50 shades of grey? I heard it's making lots of money.

Me: yeah, not my thing.

Dad: what's it about anyway? I just heard it's a sex movie.

Me: Basically, from what I know, this girl meets a billionaire and then they start having kinky sex.

Dad: Kinky sex?

Me: yeah, you know. BDSM

Dad: BDS what?

Me: you know, bondage and stuff. He ties her up, blindfolds her, whips her.

Dad: oh yeah? And she likes it?

Me: I dunno, probably.

Dad: Sounds like a waste of money.

I believe I'd like your dad.

But I completely understand his refusal to believe in something like that. It's hard to accept the fact that the world has completely gone to hell. Dammit, it's basically Lovecraft's cognitive horror, when you think about it.

Anyway, it seems that this boring soft-porn flick ("50 Shades", not "Game of Thrones" ) fared rather well with the box office. I was quite sure it will flop.

Shame it didn't.

I generally don't care if someone likes what I don't or vice versa (ie, GoT)

But 50 shades is vile. And bad for women.

The SuperCuts vid on YouTube of BATMAN '66 is hilarious. Some of those lines, I mean... "Hello Admiral... Have you sold any spare submarines and if so, to who?" They make it like Batman just calls up the Pentagon every week.

So, since this is the lounge, I can say I love The New Flash TV show, don't care for Gotham, cause I don't care for Batman stories without Batman, and Arrow does not appeal to me.

Oh, I don't care what acting quality is, if I cared, I'd probably enjoy less movies and TV shows than I already do.
