Let's rewrite history here. Hugh Jackman was rumored to be up for the part of James Bond, let's assume for a minute James was his breakout performance and not Wolverine.

Enter Daniel Craig, looking for work, would he have made a good Wolverine.

Some stats:
Daniel Craig is 5'11" (3 inches shorter than Jackman)
Eyes: Green
Hair: Light brown/blonde.

Slightly uglier than Jackman, but very rugged facial features.
In Wolverine-esque clothing

I think he actually could have done quiet well as Wolverine (obviously not being familiar with his ability to do accents).

I kinda see it working, that pic of him with the all out facial hair helped a bit with imagining it.

I think the way he looks would have pulled it off. But, i don't think he would have made a good Wolverine. Hugh Jackman did a heck of a job.

Um... it could have happened, but now that the first 3 movies have already happened, I can't imagine Daniel doing it. Yeah, he's got the potential, but eh... just not what I call the perfect Wolverine. Hugh did an awesome job.

I beg to differ. He showed good emotion and acting in all the movies. If he acted a little out of character by what he said, then it was the writing. Not him.

After seeing Casino Royal...I really think he could have done it.

I like the strange symmetry of this question. The choice of Jackman as Logan was originally questioned because a lot of people considered him too tall and too handsome for the role. Craig was considered too short and too ugly. And based on reviews, it seems that Craig, like Jackman, did great work.

And yes, I think Craig could have been a good choice for Logan.

Hear, hear....

Saw Casino Royale yesterday, and he definitely had a Logan'esqe "Don't F**** with me"-attitude.... + Hotheaded overconfidence....:yay::yay:
And his rugged, a bit world-weary face...

I agree, in an alternate timeline, he would be a great casting choice for wolverine.

I could imagine him playing Havok in the X-Men... dunno why, but he just suggests that character...

the question is......what if a short ( around 5'3" ), muscularly built actor had been picked to play Wolverine from the start?

IOW, someone that was built pretty much as comic Wolvie. Would we have accepted him as we did Jackman?

Before Jackman was cast as Wolvie in the first, I thought Mickey Rourke could be great for the part.

Well, looks don't matter, acting does. I think Hugh Jackman made an excellent wolverine and looked liked him too despite of his height. So, my answer is no. :o :whatever:

It would be interesting to see Daniel Craig play Wolverine. I'd hate to admit it, but he looks like a better choice than Hugh Jackman when I think about it. Sure, Jackman made his stamp on the character in the movie franchise, moreso the first two than the third because that was really WINO.

Daniel Craig wouldn't be bad . . . but why switch now? Jackman OWNS the character.

Craig would have been real good. but jackman is great

i dont understand this!! if jackman was great, why even think of craig??

As Logan? Nah.

but Daniel Craig would make a bad ass Sabertooth.
