The thing Collectors edition dvd

Well lately I've been buying SE dvd's which I love obviously for the special features and the movie itself of course but I buyed the american werewolf in london Collector's edition dvd which is a universal release. I love the movie, but I was rather offended by the lack of bonus material specially since the movie could have covered much more in terms of the FX and killings so forth. I'm planning to buy the howling SE dvd, which I have read has some good documentaries but the one that's more important to me is the thing CE dvd.Since I love the movie soo much, and Iam a horror-scifi fan plus a JC fan also.I wanted to know if some of you guys have it and if the documentary is good and what it covers plus how good is the new transfer.

I'll apreciate if someone gave me some info on this matter.

I have it. I don't belive it different from any of the other dvd versions of it and the SF are ok so yeah get it and the transfer is nice.

 

[Addendum]

The only difference between the current version of The Thing on DVD in stores and the '98 version is...

1) The cover
2) The '98 version isn't anamorphic

Thanks guys, so does the doc has some good BTS footage of the creature FX? like the dog and such?
