The Thread That Always Comes Back Around: Jai Courtney IS Captain Boomerang

It's about time Digger got his own thread. As a long time staple on the Suicide Squad, there's a good chance he'll be popping up in the movie. Who would you want to play the Sqad's resident curmudgeon, and what role woud you want him to play?​

I think Digger and Slade should both be older than the rest of the squad, mid-to-late 40s range. My peronal choice, if he could get the accent down, would be Boris McGiver (House of Cards, Person of Interest)

He'd be the Squad's token jerk, who winds up betraying the team when offered an operation to remove his mini-bomb. Ultimatly, he'll be defeated by Deathtroke in the final battle, but with his fate left unclear, allowing him to return if nesecary.

If Jai Courtney is going to be anybody, it's going to be Captain Boomerang. It makes no sense to have Will Smith play him especially when Courtney himself is Australian.

As I mentioned before someplace, my pick for Boomerang is Sharlto Copley. He kind of looks like the character and I am certain given his talent he can do an Australian accent. And he won't feel out of place between the likes of Tom Hardy and Will Smith if it ever gets to that.

I've given him quite a bit of flack, but Ayer is an actor's director so I'm sure he'll get something good out of it.

I've seen two roles where Courtney is enjoyable to watch, Jack Reacher and Divergent. Both films featured him as an unlikable prick, so I guess he fits the Boomerang mold.

I only saw him in REACHER, but I honestly forget who he played. If he was the sniper then I don't see why people have a problem with him. He did a fine job in that part.

I've only seen him in Jack Reacher, but I thought he played a good scumbag there. He should do fine here. He actually looks a lot like the younger Boomerang in the comics.

Agreed. He is basically an Aussie version of Channing Tatum. The role of Boomerang doesn't need an Oscar nominee or Oscar winner.
