The Simpsons is one of the longest-running and most critically acclaimed TV shows ever, so I think it would be pretty difficult to decide which episodes are the best. (Originally I was going to make this a "top ten" but since there's SO many episodes to choose from, I made it 20.)
After some thought, I decided, why not. Let's make this a tournament.
Now, how this works:
It's kind of complicated, so bear with me..
Okay, for each episode's rank, it gets a point. For example, I put "Bart on the Road" at #20 on my list, meaning it was my least favorite out of the 20. Therefore, It gets 1 point.
Now, if the next person were to put "Bart on the Road" at #10 on their list, the score for that episode then goes up to 12 points.
Scoring System
#20 slot - 1 point
#19 slot - 2 points
#18 slot - 3 points
#17 slot - 4 points
#16 slot - 5 points
#15 slot - 6 points
#14 slot - 7 points
#13 slot - 8 points
#12 slot - 9 points
#11 slot - 10 points
#10 slot - 11 points
#9 slot - 12 points
#8 slot - 13 points
#7 slot - 14 points
#6 slot - 15 points
#5 slot - 16 points
#4 slot - 17 points
#3 slot - 18 points
#2 slot - 19 points
#1 slot - 20 points
Everyone submits their lists, and the score continuously changes. Now this is the only part that stumps me.. when we stop. Maybe once we reach a certain page, (or maybe if this thread is popular enough, once the Thread Manager divides it into a separate thread we can then tally up the scores)
Anyway, once we stop, we tally up the scores and make a "Top 20 Episodes of All-Time" list as chosen by ALL of us.
Treehouse of Horror Episodes can go in a separate "Top 3" list.
Note: Since episode titles aren't featured on the show, please list a description with your choices, so people know what episode you're talking about. (You can simply copy/paste episode info via the link below)
