The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

Well a lot of the dialogue was word-for-word from the book, at least the fan-favorite scenes. Which I was happy with. Sure some of it was cheesy, but in my opinion it was the good kind of cheesy rather than the bad kind.

Two Pictures from the Next ‘Twilight’ Movie: ‘Eclipse’

Also of note from the story:
The first trailer is set to debut before Pattinson’s “Remember Me” on March 12.

Those pictures look silly but I'm still looking forward to the movie. I haven't decided if I'm going to see Remember Me though so I might not get to see the trailer on the big screen.

Editors Switched on Eclipse - David Slade’s Choice Out, Twilight Editor In

From day one David Slade seemed like an odd choice to direct a film in the Twilight franchise - and not least because of his controversial comments damning the first installment. With Eclipse, however, it seemed maybe like Summit were going for a slightly harder-edged feel by choosing him, and it even gave some undecided floating voters a tiny bit of confidence that this next film in the series would have broader appeal than the first two - films which were, let’s be honest, quite squarely targeted at certain easily defined demographics.

Entertainment Weekly now bring news that Slade’s choice of editor and regular collaborator Art Jones has been replaced on the project by Nancy Richardson, editor of the original Catherine Hardwicke movie. The studio said that they were not “blaming” Jones but that the film needed a “stronger” edit. Hmmm. The comments on this one pretty much write themselves - and that ‘Art’ has been replaced by ‘Nancy’ just adds to the comedy potential.

That whole thing has upset a lot of Twilight fans. Personally, I don't really care. As long as the movie is good, it doesn't matter who edits it.

Howard Shore,WTF?????

Self dignity out the window imo since he is attached to this movie,I don't
care if he get's paid.

It's not as if Art Jones will end up uncredited in the movie. After all, people thought Dennis Virkler would end up without an on-screen credit when Universal hired Walter Murch and Mark Goldblatt to re-edit the Wolfman remake.

He and Richardson will end up being co-credited. Summit probably hired Richardson to tighten up the movie and trim it down a bit to a reasonable length.

Editing has everything to do with how good a movie turns out. Considering how bad the first two installments were, getting the editor from the first film back doesn't look good.

Yeah, you can't downplay the importance of an editor. And lots of directors have regular editors that they have a rapport with, and it does make the film that much better. So it is a concern that Slade won't have his regular editor on Eclipse, because him directing the film had peaked my interest, because I really am interested in seeing what he would do to the material. Like Alphonso Cuaron directing a Harry Potter film, and that film still being a favorite of the series for a lot of fans.

Nancy Richardson is a fine editor, her work on Selina was excellent. She's part of the American Cinema Editors, but her work on Twilight wasn't exactly standout.

I don't know, maybe Summit and David Slade decided to hire a new editor to work on Eclipse just to get a "fresh perspective" on the movie. Considering how the movie is coming out in three months, I think she's going to re-edit certain sequences as opposed to just re-editing the entire movie from scratch. Enough of Art Jones' work will probably be left alone to guarantee a co-editing credit.

This 3rd instllment is liked cursed or something? First they lose the original actress that played Victoria(I thought she was great) and now the switching of editors.....Whats next for this franchise?

I don't think this production is cursed. Stuff like recasting and re-edits happens all the time in Hollywood.

They didn't lose Rachel Levefre -- her filming schedule conflicted with a Woody Allen movie and so rather than adjusting the schedule, Summit let her go and got Bryce Dallas Howard instead.

I doubt David Slade had anything to do with it. He worked with Art Jones on both Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night without a "fresh perspective". I think this has more to do with Summit trying to take over than anything. I'm assuming Slade and Jones cut a film that the studio thought maybe too intense. Summit isn't exactly "high standards" when it comes to these things.

Maybe you're right.

*checks IMDB*

Holy crap, it looks like Richardson is indeed re-editing the movie from scratch. Art Jones is nowhere to be seen. Not even an "additional editing" credit.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Trailer Coming Thursday
Source: Summit Entertainment

The first trailer for Summit Entertainment's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will come online on Thursday morning at around 6:00 AM PST/9:00 AM EST. The 90-second trailer's contents are being kept under tight wraps until its debut. Prior to this, on Wednesday, March 10 a 10-second teaser of that trailer will come online at about 6:00 AM PST/9:00 AM EST. The full trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse can also be seen in theaters in front of Summit Entertainment's Remember Me, which also stars Robert Pattinson.

In The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between Edward and Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner reprise their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. The film is directed by David Slade, based on the novel "Eclipse" by Stephenie Meyer, with a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg. The movie hits conventional theaters and IMAX on June 30, 2010.

He's got a point. When the author of the Twilight books comes out and says that stuff like "The Lost Boys" and "Interview with the Vampire" are gross and HASN'T EVEN READ DRACULA, she clearly has no respect for the mythology and shouldn't be writing vampire stories in the first place. So it sparkles and doesn't have fangs. You can call it a vampire until you're blue in the face, but it doesn't mean it is one.

And just so you know I'm not making the stuff up about the author, here's a source:

It doesn't matter. He shouldn't be coming in here and trashing the thread. Looking to start something with the people who like these movies. I mean I've seen the first one and It was okay. But I'm not the core audience.

Dudes just looking to start S**t plain and simple and thats' where the line of opinion and trolling begins.

Stephanie Meyer's knowledge (or lack thereof) of vampire/werewolf lore is fairly well-known.

However, I will remind everyone that this thread is about the new film and not a place to troll with childish rants about the Twilight series, its author, and it's fans.

The second pic looks like a parody of the series rather than part of the movie... but Howard looks good as Victoria.

The teaser for the teaser trailer just made me feel cheep. Like I couldn't hold out waiting one more day for the trailer.

I hope the third film is good. I actually was a big fan of the first (never read the books). It had a certain atmosphere about it, and I kind of liked the 'indie-quality' it had, that I felt was lost in the 2nd film. With Slade directing, I'm hoping for that...although the pictures and that 10-second teaser didn't do much convincing.

The trailer does make it seem like it will be a little more grand in scale then the second one.

If what they are alluding to in the trailer actually happens i'll go see this movie.
