The Ultimate College Football Thread!!!!!!!!! OMG - - Part 2

Manning looked very, very ordinary. Maybe his receivers weren't getting open, but he sailed WAY too many throws. Not impressed.

Mechanics looked terrible. He'd have a wide open receiver and a clear passing lane and for some reason he kept side arming his passes.

Speaking of all-world hyped up recruits, as a Michigan fan was very happy with Underwood's debut. Granted it was against New Mexico but he was put in some situations with a little adversity and handled it well especially for a true freshman. Look forward to seeing how he performs against Oklahoma on the road this weekend.

Speaking as a (former LOL) Pac-10 guy on the left coast, Michigan and Ohio St represent the axis of evil (I'm sure you can agree with me about one of those teams anyway LOL). Now some of my teams have joined a conference that can't count (Big Ten? :funny: ).

Now that I've got that off my chest......Manning was way overhyped and, in his defense, it's really not his fault. The kid likely just needs some time to settle in and he certainly has the tools to be an NFL star. I didn't see the UM game, but have also heard good things about Underwood and wish him luck (most of the time LOL).

Well Underwood didn't have a good performance in his first true test but the coaches didn't do him any favors. I get trying to ease your true freshman QB into a hostile road environment especially when your best pass catching option was unavailable but constantly running into a stacked box and getting behind the chains for 3rd down doesn't do the QB any favors.

On the opposite side Mateer was great and Michigan just couldn't get off the field on many drives.
