Comics The Ultimate X-MEN Thread

Alot of the art nearing the end of Millar's run was really really lacking.I mean seriously, talk about sketchy and rushed. Then came along Finch, don't get me started on him.He has Jim Lee syndrome drawing all of his characters with the same facial structure and enough wrinkles to make your eyes scrunch.Immonen's art was fresh and fast paced.I'm going to miss BKV and SV alot.

Incidentally, did anybody see that new image of Ultimate Hulk literally ripping Wolverine in half? HOLY S#!T!!! This comic can not come out soon enough!
How the hell can Wolverine survive that?!
That's just *@#%ing ridiculous.

Whow! you've missed a lot! in my opinion, you can skip the hellfire and brimstone one and the team up one with spidey. Those two arcs were the worst.
Yeah I missed way too much. I'm really interested in ROTK. So, the Spidey one sucked eh? I really wanna' read it all. I'll see. Anybody like the first Ultimate team-up story from 200, the first issue with Spidey and Wolverine? I like how Peter at the end , styled his hair like Logan's and got mashed potatoes thrown at him or something like that.

I hear lots of praise for The conclusion of Magnetic North.

I didn't find it all that good.Vaughan is always able to trick me as to what is going to happen,i wasn't expecting the whole Mystique thing. However, the thing that dissapointed me the most was how there was no battle.I was looking for a huge all out war between Mags and the X-men,that really upset me.Stil a "good" ish,but could have been better.

I was just thinking, in the last issue of magnetic north, what did sinister do to longshot? Because we see him and then the red eye flashes and next time we see him he is talking with magneto like nothing happened. Did sinister actually do something to him or did he just flash a red light for no reason?

Dude, the entire arc had enough action.

ROTK was okay, and not at all what alot of people have made it out to be.You're better sticking with the very first arc of the series "Tomorrow People".That was probably the best arc of this series so far.

Maybe he just made Longshot release him.

I have it, I bought the first and second arcs when they first came out. Now I'm going to get some tpb's. Is the first issue worth anything?

FInally read the last part and it was an awesome finish. Glad Dazzler is still kickin', as that character has a lot more potential once she wakes up. Longshot as part of the Brotherhood has some potential. The Colossus thing doesn't bug me as long as he doesn't become too much of a stereotype.

The first 6 issues of the entire series are the ones worth the most.If you're asking about ROTK,those books still go for cover price.

That panel was a bit confusing and alot of people missed what actually happened.Essex didn't do anything, nor did he escape as Emma said.Longshot turned around and was surprised to see Magneto behind him.If you look at Longshot's figure,a darker figure stands behind him as he delivers the line about killing Essex if he doesn't shut up.It's not his shadow,it's Magneto's figure standing in the dark.

That would've been so predictable, though, if they'd had all out war with Magneto. It's so much cooler that Magento escaped and no one knows that thanks to Mystique. That's what made this issue so good.

I'm sure there will be a big battle with Magneto, but for now they're going to get much more mileage out of Mags by allowing him out of prison.

.
No, I meant the very first.:)

I was wondering it just so happens that alot of people told me to pick up some uxm is worth picking up or whould i have missed to much by now?

Ofcourse it's worth it. It's X-men and they're always worth it.:)

well i mean like did any charcters go through any big changes? like i heard that the completley butcherd gambit if so what did they do. i didnt mean like i wasent going to pick up the comic. im going to pick up a couple of them with ultimate hulk vs wolverine.

They didn't butcher Gambit, they just (since you haven't read it)
killed him. And it was an honorable and heartfelt death.

I recommend going to your local comicbook store or Barnes n' Noble and picking up the older Ult. X-Men TPBs so you can start at the beginning.

They actually did a pretty good job with Gambit (not counting the hair). Ultimate Remy was a very likeable yet still moderately creepy on the surface guy.

i will go to barns a noble and pick those up thank you for the advice

see i had this idea last night i wonder if any one else has thought of it while i was looking at the ultimate hulk vs wolvverine pic i thought what if wolverines torso grew legs and the other set of legs grew a torso. Think about it there whould be to wolverines one of them whould not know anything about his past. these are the things that keep me up at night.
