It's still the standard for puzzles and dungeons. KOTOR's combat system SUCKED And it's story, dialogue, roleplaying and quality are still unmatched by basically everything.

Are we talking about classic Ninja Gaiden, or XBOX?

KOTOR was great in a lot of aspects, but admittedly, most of it's charms are lost on casual gamers or non-franchise fans. The battle system wasn't bad, but I'm also a tabletop player, so I could appreciate it a lot more than the casual video gamer.

Zelda isn't bad at all. Sure, by now, it's become cliché, but there's a reason for that. Zelda is the original. The original sells. People want money, so they copy the original.

1) Rare was a HUGE waste of money...despite turning a profit for each and every one of their games, something several Microsoft published games can't claim, nor can the Xbox platform itself. And don't even get me started on the fact that they appeal to a demographic that otherwise is largely untouched on the xbox360 platform. Yeah, what a waste.

I never said that in this thread. Yes I do think that Rare was a waste of money considering that they really didn't make anything that great for the original Xbox.

5) They could have gotten "much better" companies? Better than companies who consistently pump out commercial and critical success stories? Better than companies that were selling dirt cheap? 6) No, they don't. I mean, first of all, we can eliminate quite a few games from that list instantly. Metal Gear Solid 4? Are you serious? It looks like MGS3, only in high def, it's not even a contender. I mean, I know you love it and all, and think that it's some great graphical masterpiece and all that, but yeah, it's not. And Final Fantasy?

Are you honestly comparing Viva to a pre-rendered cgi fest that doesn't even look half as good regardless? Seriously? You sure? Hahahaha, wow. Try a little harder to build your lists. For example, when making a list of "graphically superior games", try not to include games that "look like an overhyped soggy bag of ass". The only real contenders there are Gears of War and Halo 3, which only look better from a realism stand point. If you take into account that it's ****ing ******ed to compare a stylized visual to something trying to look perfectly real, and take into account that the stylized visuals just make it more interesting to look at, yeah, Viva Pinata beats them both. I mean, it's not even debatable, this is almost as bad as the time when you tried to say Japan was actually the biggest market past 1998

A good Perfect Dark - They did, it's just that idiots decided they'd hate it before it came out, and mostly didn't even bother playing it, judging it entirely on months old shots of an even older alpha build of the game, usually making that the basis of their ONLY judgments on the title.

Then why the hell haven't they said that they are or will. Why not do it right now. Those games are in much more demand than f**king Viva Pinata.

I mean, so far, the only complaints about this game have been either "I am 12 years old and thus believe myself to be too cool to have fun, despite the fact that I'm, you know, 12 years old" and "I wanted another game, so instead of being disappointed that I didn't get them, I'll be disappointed that I didn't get them and I'll trash this as well, despite the fact that this idea is ****ing ******ed." Seriously, I really don't have any problem with someone saying "this ain't my cup of tea", I didn't blow up on WHF or anything, but honestly, if you're going to dislike something, at least give a decent reason, don't pull that "I only play what my friends say is cool, sorry, my hands are tied " crap, and for god's sakes don't compare the games visuals to a game like N3, which, despite it's great gameplay, looks like a trashy xbox launch title.

You know what other opinion is shared amongst many others? That EA's "street" games and "Def Jam" are really "dope". I really couldn't care less how popular one opinion is over another here. The fact is, this game is going to be fun, it is visually interesting, and it's a breath of fresh air from all the ****ty sci fi Halo wanna be shooters and ****ty "action adventure, with GUNS! And now featuring: BLOOD!" almost-games that are flooding the system just like they did the original. And yet, all people can do is tear it down before they even really look at it or know anything about it, which is made obvious by people in this thread attacking things that arern't even in te game. Actually, I said that no games look better than Viva Pinata, only that those two come close, not because they're 360 games, but because they're the only games that come close. If those two happen to be 360 games and that gets your panties in a bunch, go ***** and moan to for pretty much only releasing crap and CG, not me. And no, none of the games you mentioned look better than Viva Pinata, hell, one of the games you mentioned (N3), despite me loving it, looks worse than quite a few games on the original Xbox, much less the graphical flagship of that systems successor. And would others agree with you? Yeah. Would they be agreeing with you because Halo and Gears look more "real" and they can't comprehend any other way to look at graphics besides how "real" they look, totally ignoring how visually interesting something may be? People like yourself who have had a hate ***** for Rare ever since they left Nintendo, because you believe they magically lost all their talent under the "dark" and "evil" leadership of Microsoft? People who are too "cool" for the types of games that Rare excells at anyways? The fact is, Viva Pinata appeals to a crowd that is largely untouched on this system while at the same time offering a lot of fun to anyone not so full of themselves that they'll give it a shot. Banjo does the same...but doesn't launch a huge money making fad for Microsoft. Jet Force Gemini is too niche. Perfect Dark and Kameo were already done. That leaves Killer Instinct, a game that is in a smaller genre that appeals to a crowd already WELL covered on the system. This is why you don't run companies and probably shouldn't in the near future.

What's so ******ed about it? Would they be more acceptable with red bandannas and a gun in their sagging jeans? Maybe green MJOLNIR armor? The pinata's look visually interesting, it's something original that hasn't been done so much that it's become a bad game cliche like the above examples, and wouldn't put off anyone who would have played the game in the first place. The pinata's are fine, the only problems here are your poor reading abilities and your piss poor taste, though I guess that last one isn't that big a deal for you since judging by this thread you have other motivations besides "fun" for playing games.
