The Viva Pinata Hype Thread (that's right, ANOTHER)

Whatever. I am not too sure about everything about the game, just that its sort of a sim world type deal.

I don't know if it was denton's infectious enthusiasm, but this game is kinda growing on me....

I never thought I'd say this, because I've always wondered "Why don't developers do new genres" but now I'm looking at something made for kids and I don't even understand what to do with it. :(

It looks amazing though.

It does look amazing, the graphics are great. Rare's the undisputed texture king of next-gen. And you have to understand what to do with it by now WHF, think of Animal Crossing or Sim City :(

There, watch them. The game doesn't lag at all, much less at the 1-2 frames per second people were claiming after the demo units were all screwed up. And please just give this game a chance Horrorfan, it's going to be fun :(

I don't know if your pure enthusiasm wore down my barriers, or made me realise like gammy said that I can be too bull headed sometimes, or if im just dazzeled by the pretty colours, but I am pretty sure I will at least give this game a chance now.

I'll get it during the subsequent game drought.
There shouldn't be a game drought for a while now. Mass Effect and any Christmas slips in the earlier months, I think Blue Dragon is supposed to be getting localized while it's still in development so it should be out by June-Julyish, and then it's the end of the traditional "drought" season anyways. Go preorder :o

THE CARTOON PREMIERES TOMORROW. YEEEEHAAAAAWWWW!!

The cartoon is already on Live I think, I posted the videos somewhere in here I think. It's better than most kids shows, but it's still a crappy kids show, it's just less crappy than usual. The good thing though is that the show is using the same art assets as the game itself, (the animation probably isn't as good though), so it provides a nice preview of how the game will look.

I think that they're using the same art assets is awesome. It's always wierd when they have a game, and a TV show, and the people look different (Pokemon).

I don't know how a demo would work with this sort of game, but I hope they can release one at X06/TGS on the Marketplace, I need most people are going to need to actually play it to "get it". I just hope it isn't a repeat of Kameo, with a ****ty demo for an awesome game :(

The problem with the Kameo demo was that it was a jumbled together action sequence meant to teach the player all of the game mechanics, but it just wasn't that fun.

Should have given us the last battlefield sequence.

They released a new demo that was just a huge battle I think (I don't know, I didn't download it since I had the full game at the time), which they should have done to begin with. No one likes playing tutorials.

I want to wait for either C&C 3 or something less turn based for my strategy fix.
