Woah, this looks cool! I havent seen it mentioned before, and since it looks like a more general Marvel Film topic, I think it fits here well. :)
Thanks for posting that!
How do we know this will run through Civil War? I mean, I think it will be great if it does, especially to allow for other backstories to be shown in more detail but a short time. (Kinda like the Frontline comics! :D) A little bit of everything I suppose. (Assuming that's the type of thing it will be)

Are there any places with more info on what this is? An official Marvel announcement or anything?

I'm even more hyped now! Didn't know that was possible! :O

There's so many different viral marketing opportunities Marvel could use. This could be great.

We don't know that it will run through Civil War...we're just hoping. Reaction to this viral campaign has been very positive so far, from what I've seen. Therefore, we're hoping that Marvel continues to use these WHiH segments on other properties. This could potentially be an ongoing thing that becomes part of the marketing for not only upcoming films, but also upcoming seasons of Agents Of SHIELD and the Netflix shows. It's another way they could emphasize that "it's all connected."

WHiH itself has been part of the MCU since almost day one, having appeared in The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Agents Of SHIELD and even Daredevil.

So far, all we have are the YouTube channel, the Google Plus profile, and the Twitter account: https://***********/WHIHOfficial

I mentioned in the Ant-Man thread that their Twitter account isn't following other Marvel Twitter accounts. They're following real-world news outlets like CNN, Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Associated Press, Time, The BBC, etc. It's not a huge thing, but I love that attention to detail!

I love that Marvel is doing this. I hope they keep it up and not just around movie premieres. This is also a great way to introduce JJJ.

WHIH's "Look back at cyber criminal Scott Lang" will be popping up today. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

One would hope that they justify(in universe) why a national news service is running stories about common criminals. It can't be simply because he's got a new movie coming out, :hehe:. There's got to be some angle that would make a story worth going after. Otherwise it'd be just relegated to the back pages of a newspaper or some such thing rather than having a TV news expose'.

A common criminal who redeemed himself to become the latest superhero....

Yeah, no news there.

This is pretty cool, I look forward to viewing more.

WHiH report on Scott Lang:

There's a lot they can cover on the WHiH sight!

"Fox-Marvel. Are they the real deal or pathetic rights grabbing crooks? More at 10!"

Just a thought!

Well I got the impression from that clip that they were reporting on him prior to the events of the Ant-Man movie. Why would they do that? Not saying there can't be or isn't a good reason for doing so, just saying I hope there is because otherwise it's akin to breaking the 4th wall and they haven't done that in the MCU yet, thank goodness.

Ok, after reading the new report on mashable and watching the new spot Bibb did, the angle of human interest story via whistleblower/DavidVGoliath aspect makes more sense why they would be covering this. Is Scott Lang going to be the Edward Snowden of superheroes? That's a legitimately intriguing angle to go with, not to mention relevant to today. Part of me wishes they tossed in some mundane, non-superhero stuff into her newscast(the ticker-tape doesn't really do it well enough, IMO) to make it feel like it's a real newscast that just happens to sometimes have superhero news show up in it because it's taking place in the MCU where that can happen.

I take back part of what I said. Should've watched the report before commenting. It's basically a Robin Hood tale. Robbing a huge corporation for millions and giving most of it back to the company's customers is anything but "common". Plus the accusations that "Vista Corp" are the real crooks is what made it newsworthy. It's not like he knocked over a Gas Station or something trivial like that.

Yeah, I edited my post after watching it. They have a plausible in-universe reason for doing the story now.

It's also hinting at what attracted Pym to Lang in the first place. He's a thief with a heart of gold! LOL!

Woah! Didn't expect for them to come up with something like that, non Ant-Man related, as well as un-announced...
If I wasn't convinced before, I am now, that this is not something they are doing temporarily. It looks like this news will keep running along, at least through Civil War.

I can't wait to see this. Wonder if they'll get like Maria Hill or someone to interview.

For those who missed it at the end of the video:

WHIH NEWS INC. IS A SUBSIDIARY OF VISTA CORP INTERNATIONAL

Huh. 6pm Pacific and still nothing. I am very sad about this.
