Yea this game is going to raise the bar for all open world RPGs. Its going to be incredible

With Yennefer returning, i wonder what your relationship with Triss will be? Wonder how thats going to pick up after the events of the Witcher 2. Cuz i really liked Triss and would deff like to see more of her.

I still need to play The Witcher 2, but in any case this game looks really good.

Man, I don't know why I can't get into the Witcher series...maybe it's the combat. I really wanted to like Witcher 2 and just couldn't get into it.

I still need to finish Witcher 2 but played enough to know I like it a lot. And this looks like a massive step up. Hope the combat can be improved.

For those who have played The Wither 1 and 2, I started playing 1 but I kinda lost interest. I wasn't a fan of the combat and it just feels kinda outdated. Is it worth playing for the story or should I just skip to The Witcher 2?

The combat is pretty damn good in the 2nd game. Deff has room for improvement but its better than say Skyrims.

Yeah, I just mentioned that before seeing your post. I think the combat can be improved. I really love the setting, characters, story (so far) & voice acting of Witcher 2.

Yea iv heard the combat from 1 is really janky, but vastly improved for the Witcher 2. I never played the first game and while playing the second title i never felt lost. Theres a lot of back story you can read up on to get yourself caught up.

To me Skyrim's combat is 4/10..Witcher's is about 6.5. Whereas the games are closer to 9/10 overall. Combat is one area I think there is more room for improvement than other areas for both games (but Skyrim a lot more).

The trailer at E3 really got me pumped, I've finished the first Witcher couple of weeks ago and really glad that I've waited, I'm sure you can jump to the second one with no problem but I'm a real stubborn person, now I've finally started Witcher 2 and really enjoying the improvements, it's a beautiful game even though I'm playing on 360, I just want to asbord more of the lore so I've to get around the books soon.

I definitely will play that one day. The opening cut scene for that game was epic. How jarring do you think it would be playing it after being used to the improvements in Witcher 2?

If you go in knowing what to expect it wouldn't be a problem, the sword combat is basically relying on mouse clicks and chaining attacks, it has a divided reactions but at least it's easy to handle, even if you don't like it's worth playing alone just for the story and world building that CD Projekt Red are so good at. I hope by the time you get around it you'll a better pc than me, I myself played it on Mac, I'm not so picky but I had high on most settings and it looked pretty good and it worked fine aside from the occasional crashes when I had a 5 hour or more sessions.

Great. I've got a very good pc now. Have a good mac too but can't be bothered with the hassle of gaming on it.

I just checked Steam and you can get the orig Witcher for like 4 bux, I was gonna snag it for my Mac but it looks like my Mac is just a little outdated haha.

Old games are amazing value as entertainment products!

I bought the original Witcher from Steam too!

Dude, get on that, its awesome.

Here's a wacky coincidence: Went to a friend's house last night and he happened to have a copy. After mentioning I was looking forward to playing it, he loaned it to me! I'll be firing it up later today.

Cant wait to fight some of those giant monsters. Fighting the Kayran in Witcher 2 was epic, so hopefully theres more fights like that to come.
Yeah, I want more monster fights & it looks like we're getting them. So far this game looks like a big step up from an already good game.

DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC will be free
Same goes for consoles, if CD Projekt RED is allowed

As a development studio, CD Projekt RED is easy to look up to. That general sentiment continues following an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun discussing DRM and downloadable content for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC and consoles.

"A lot of people on forums are saying, 'No, but you guys are anti-DRM,'" studio head Marcin Iwinski explained. "And we really are anti-DRM. But at the same time, there are people who’ll be fine with [Xbox One's online-heavy DRM]. They’ll buy the console and just want to play. Why should we not give them this option?

"That’s our approach, but at the same time, we don’t know what the final policies are. Things might be changing. There’s a lot of heat right now. From our perspective, we’ll always choose the most gamer-friendly solution. And on the platform where we have control -- which is PC --we’ll release on GOG day one and DRM-free."

Phew. It's already clear The Witcher 3 is going to be a game we won't want to miss out on. The news gets better: "It’s too early to talk specifics, but definitely all the DLCs and updates will be free. Of course, we’ll see what the platform holders will allow -- what we can do for free [on next-gen consoles]. I mean, there are different business models on consoles. From our standpoint, we’ll definitely do everything we can to deliver the same experience across all platforms."

I feel like as a standard Sony probably doesn't allow such a thing either, but they seem more likely to make an exception to me.

I do wonder what the specific of updates and DLC are though. If I self publish a game on PSN, can I add free DLC?

It'll be interesting when both companies policies are more concrete.
