VGX Trailer from Saturday's (vomit inducing) Awards Show in glorious 1080p:

[YT]MqQ3LeBgGDM[/YT]And a direct link to the uncompressed, untouched, pristine real deal:

Prepare.Your.Šhit.

Can't view the uncompressed version here. Guessing it's a lot better?

so in the Witcher you only play as one set character?

it's not a create your own character kind of deal?

can you at least "define" the main character by the choices you make in the game?

To an extent. You play as Geralt. Geralt for the most part has his own set of morals which you don't get to alter. The things you can change are things like which side in a conflict you'll take or who to help and who not to help, but you aren't going to be making Geralt into the character you want. He's already defined.

ah, thanks.

so is Geralt ultimately a "good character?"

is he an amoral anti hero type?

Yea for the most part he's a "good" dude. He's a Witcher, meaning he primarily spends his time hunting monsters and getting paid for it, but he's not the type to just completely let injustices go. Theres a trailer for this game that showcases just that. He collects his reward for hunting a monster but the people that paid him were shown abusing some lady, so he intervenes. The trailer, fittingly, is titled "Hunting Monsters".

I'd say Geralt falls under "Neutral Good" if we're using D&D alignments.

A Neutral Good character is guided by his conscience and typically acts altruistically, without regard for or against Lawful precepts such as rules or tradition. A Neutral Good character has no problems with co-operating with lawful officials, but does not feel beholden to them. In the event that doing the right thing requires the bending or breaking of rules, they do not suffer the same inner conflict that a Lawful Good character would.

In the first game, there were 3 "sides" you could choose to follow for the main quest; two opposing factions and the Witcher side which is more or less neutral.

thanks guys!

that sounds like a character I'd like.

as you can tell, I've never played a Witcher game before, so 3 will be my 1st one.

The intros to the Witcher games have been awesome. Hope this one is ridiculous!

If you have a 360 or capable PC, snag the 2nd game. I think its pretty damn cheap now and well worth a play through.

Interesting, I've been looking for something new to read so ill have to check them out

I do have a 360, but I'm getting ready to sell it.

I'd rather save my money and get part 3 on the PS4.

too bad #2 didn't come out on the PS3. I might snag that if it had come out on PS3.

If you aren't selling it any time soon, you can snag The Witcher 2 for like 10 bux. Its also available on Steam.

For those that did play the 2nd game, i hope there is some type of option to carry over your choices. I know it'll be there for the PC version, but even just a quick 'choose what option you picked' at the start of Witcher 3 would be cool for carrying over some of your choices that you made on the console version. Really don't want my stuff with Triss to just be non-existent.

The truth is, everything pretty much heads to the same road at the end of the Witcher 2. The only two real difference is probably going to have a "definitive" ending.
